This place is a hidden gem! It was perfect for my husband and I as I am gluten free but he still wants decent local food. This place does both! The people who run it speak about 4 languages and are lovely. I could not get them on the phone but I emailed to reserve a table and they emailed... More

We booked for our anniversary & we're not disappointed by the excellent food. It's fairly priced for the quality of service & there is a very cosy atmosphere. The only criticism is they do not provide a glass of water, only bottles to buy which seems a bit penny pinching. However, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal & the Flemish stew... More

Lovely, quirky restaurant, cosy and homely. Nathalie the hostess is warm and friendly. We explained the type of wine we liked and she recommended their house red. Good choice. The menus are all on record sleeve copies and ours was from Stoke on Trent, the Torch, coincidentally. The owners are keen on soul music. The food was lovely traditional Belgian food, apart from... We booked into Pro Deo after reading the excellent reviews beforehand and were not disappointed. A set menu was offered for Christmas Eve and it was lovely home-cooked food with well chosen wines to accompany the menu. The restaurant has a homely feel and Nathalie and the staff were great - very friendly and took time to explain the menu.... More

OK....I'm usually a complete shill for TA and those restaurants that rank highly. But I've just got to say that pro Deo was good, but not great. They were kind enough to accommodate us as a 2 hour prior call-in, so I should maybe go easier on them....but I'm trying to be objective here. We both had the Prix Fixe... More

We tried to get into this restaurant last year but booked too late. Luckily we managed to get a booking this year. We were a party of eight which they more than catered for. Brilliant service, very well looked after. Food was delicious with lovely flavours, definitely recommend the beef stew with apple sauce. Definitely hope to visit again next... More

Atmosphere is intimate, individual unusual. The food generous and good. It's a little walk from the main square, but not overlong, and well worth it. Natalie treats everyone to a warm friendly welcome, and is really kind to all the walk ins who had to walk back out! Book if you want to go here and please do!

Fortunately we booked the week before and we're glad we had as at least 10 walk ins had to be turned away during our meal. Everything about the place was great, funky decor with great design everywhere. Well placed tables that weren't on top of each other. You really feel like you can have a romantic meal without your neighbours... More
