Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Looks like a lot of mixed reviews. We had a couple beers on this stunning terrace and enjoyed it thoroughly.

The people who work there are really very rude ! A man who was working at the garden started to shout and swear without an important reason.

The place was visited on 4th of March. When I entered ,I liked to sit on the terrace to enjoy the view but the waiter told me “it is closed “and he locked it in a key in front of me!!!!There was only one table...with 2 customers. I waited for 20 minutes and he was infront of me serving them. At first I thought it is a self service, so I went to him and he refused speaking in English after I asked him so ,and at the end told me “no order. I am closed”in a very mean humiliating disrespectful way with high tone .This is because he is so Racist and doesn't respect people from different cultures .This behavior reflects his mentality and savage level. What a kind of a place do such a thing. I have submitted a review via Facebook message but with no response so decided people could read this before entering .Although magnificent from outside but a rude racist waiter inside!.More

My husband and I passed by thus lovely looking building and thought we'd stop for a drink. There is an outdoor seating area where you can sit by the river which is all very quaint. A couple sat behind us had a few drinks there...and just as they'd finished their drink the male owner came up to them and told them to get out. They were naturally quite shocked by this and the owner then spoke to them as though they were stupid, annunciating each word, like they didn't understand him. They were shocked to be told to leave very rudely. This disgusting behaviour prompted my husband and I to finish our drinks and leave quickly. I've never encountered such awful behaviour. Yes, it's pleasant sitting outside but that behaviour overstepped the line. And from looking at other reviews this has happened before. Quite frankly the owners don't deserve to run such a lovely looking place. The drinks are over-priced and honestly it ruined our afternoon seeing that. Thankfully the owner didn't say that to my husband and I, as our reaction would not have been so understanding. An utter disgrace and I hope this place closes for new management. So do not let it's beauty fool you. And there was also a dead cat in the river.More

Amazing location! Can’t get a better view. Very friendly owner that made sure we were happy. Tapas board was excellent and sangria was well done. Highly recommend.

What a find this place was. It's got to be the prettiest location to drink and dine in the whole of Bruge. Family run atmosphere, locally sourced menu and of course serving Bruges Zog, one of the best blonde beers I've ever tasted. Like all...tourist spots it can get pretty busy so try and make sure you book ahead. Will be coming back for sure.More

A perfect place to relax, have a drink, dinner,... in a wonderful setting with the lake as the attraction. Its an older couple who serves you here and you have to be patient but its really nice. You came here to relax and not to...hurry. We were here for dessert and a drink.. it was ok. They do their best for following the corona regulations.. markings on the floor, desinfectant gel, wear mouthmask.. cant do much more i think.More

A beautiful setting but an untidy place. We were so happy to come across this place, location perfect and in a beautiful location in Brugge. Sadly, to find a clean, spiderweb free seating area took us 5 table moves. For the staff, a quick feather...duster would help. We found a nice table and had drinks. I just wish it had have been cleaner.More

Unique and authentique old fashion grumpiness that is hard to find these days. We were looking to visit something historical today and while we just came here for a cup of coffee we stumbled upon something special and rare. Feeling like an invader while ordering...a coffee at the self service bar and having to correct the staff in a miscalculation gave me the laugh of my day. Funny experience!More

We went to this restaurant which is set along side Minnewater pond. We each had their Sangrias which were surprisingly good. Great ambience facing the pond.

So ignore all the people on here who say to avoid!!! It’s a gem of a place run by lovely staff... well family. I met the owner, his wife and all the staff. All were friendly, welcoming and liked a laugh! I asked for a...coffee but it was nearly closing time.. they pointed out that they did a lovely Prosecco! I liked their thinking!!! They were correct. Hubby had a lovely local beer and they fussed over Abbie my dog and fetched her clean fresh water without being asked! The view was to die for!!! We sat as the dusk fell into night sipping our drinks. The owner told us loads about the history of the building.. we loved it! We didn’t feel rushed... in fact very relaxed and the visit made our evening. It was my birthday trip away after all. Thanks for making us feel welcome and we can’t wait to visit again!!! To others yes take cash - it clearly says this so don’t looked shocked! Don’t be silly and share drinks. This building takes a lot to run and asking for water and sharing drinks won’t pay for the upkeep! If you’re rude to anyone they will be rude back regardless of the business. This is a family business so be respectful. We are lucky they’ve not sold out and it’s not Nados or McDonald’s - this family is trying to keep it historic so respect them and their business xxxMore

My boyfriend went to the bar to get beers while I waited out on the terrace. He was waiting for ages with no one to be seen meanwhile the very rude lady who runs the restaurant came out to the terrace to chase away myself...and a few other tourists. We insisted that we were there for drinks not just to take pictures but since we had nothing in front of us (due to no one attending the bar) she would not believe us. A beautiful spot for a picture of the lake, too bad about the owners.More
