Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The setting ,decor and ambience were very good as was the first course of smoked eel. Unfortunately, however, I have to say that my main dish of langoustines was very overcooked and presented. in a manner which I found unappetising and very messy to eat.

We lunched here on consecutive days. Neither day disappointed. We both opted for the day’s lunch menu which was excellent. Pollock with vegetables one day and sea bass on the second - different delicious sauces, both beautifully presented. The oysters were also very good. The...staff were attentive and engaging, the restaurant very clean. If you love fish then this should definitely be on your list!More

The hotel I was staying in recommended this restaurant, and I am very glad that they did. I have a fish allergy which the staff were very accommodating with. My family had the lobster which they absouloutley loved, and I had the steak which was...delicious. The food there was absolutely spectacular, and the service was amazing. Hope to come back soon!More

Exceptional fish cooked extremely well. We definitely had our best meal in Bruges here. Service was also very good. Surprised to read reviews to the contrary

We have eaten here at dinner twice before, both pre-lockdown and had excellent dinners. So we booked it again to celebrate my in-laws golden wedding, which we told the restaurant about in advance in writing. My FIL loves fish. I like the fact that they...have a fresh fish counter, and the restaurant is modern with a small brigade in an open plan kitchen. Everything cooked to order and you can see them doing it. The fish was good. However, the maitre'd is I think the chef's wife, and boy was she unfriendly. She needs retraining. Or ideally replacing. Portions are odd. For example, I had turbot which was expensive but a large portion, just slightly under cooked. The unfriendly woman recommended mashed potatoes, which she assured me used lots of butter. Not true. Dull and lukewarm and not seasoned at all. My FIL ordered Dover Sole off the bone, and once they had removed the bone you needed a magnifying glass to find the fish. The real spoiler though was pudding. When the waitress brought my wife's, she apologised. It looked like a melted puddle. I had seen the commis struggling with a foam gun. We discreetly called over stroppy wife and she insisted it was fine. So we asked "why did the waitress apologise then?" She ignored thsi and walked off. So we just sat there pointedly not eating. Without saying a word the waitress came and took the pudding away. The brigade got in a huddle around the sad pudding. After a while a new one turned up, looking completely different and the chef came and apologised very nicely. But....they knew it was wrong and they still served it and tried to pass it off as OK. This is bad behaviour from a restaurant and as a result we shall never return. PS: and they made zero effort for the golden wedding aspect. Zero, No acknowledgement at all. Disappointing. Oh well, it's just food.More

Most reviews are left after food. However, we did not even make it that far. This was an experience like no other. Myself, my wife and our two kids walked into this restaurant for dinner. As we walked in we were greeted by a waitress...and asked whether we had a booking. Our booking confirmation was online and my wife was having some trouble getting mobile coverage. A short time afterwards, the madame (dark haired lady with glasses) came out and asked us to produce our booking. The restaurant was not busy and we were told they did have a table free. However, the madam was insistent she wanted to see our booking confirmation. When we asked whether there was a WIFI we could access to obtain our online booking we received the worst treatment I have ever received at a restaurant. We were invited to use our own 4G network, told to move out of the way so the madam could do her job and come back when we find our booking confirmation. We were made to feel so unwelcome that evening that we no longer had the inclination of eating at the restaurant. I don't care how good the food may have been, but I am glad we did not eat at this restaurant. My wife, kids (11 and 8) and I have never been spoken to in such a rude, unhelpful, curt and unwelcoming manner at a restaurant. The madame deserved to be fired on the basis of her client manner. My wife and I had to spend the rest of the evening explaining to our kids that not everyone is as rude as the lady we had just encountered. This restaurant is plain awful. I would never set foot in this place again.More

Mussels in white wine sauce and shrimp croquettes were our choices: not disappointed. They were recommended by our host. Location next to the old fisherman’s market. Did Monet offers tables inside and outside in a sheltered area: very comfortable on a cool evening. Side choices...were very tasty: eggplant with zucchini (warm) and a mix of mushrooms (cold). There are also many fresh fish dishes that were tempting. Would definetely returnMore

Our second visit to this family-owned restaurant. We shared plates of grilled shrimps to start and then both enjoyed, massively, Dover sole, cooked and presented to a variety of ways. Good value house wine and great coffee; we’ll be back.
