Great little restaurant adores by locals and tourists alike. It came recommended to us by a tapestry shop we visited earlier in the day. We went right when it opened at 6 pm as we didn’t have reservations. We enjoyed an appetizer of muscles with...garlic and butter. For the main course we had the Flemish stew with frites and the lamb. The lamb came with a side of potatos which were some of the best potatos I’ve ever had. Also enjoyed their local Brugges Zot blond beer. Our meal with 5 beers was 101 euro which for the quality of food was a very good price. Lucky we were able to enjoy this restaurant as I hear they’re closing very soon as the owners are retiring. Best of luck in your retirement!More

We had the set menu with wine at €74 per person - the food was delicious and beautifully presented, the wine was generously served and very nice. Service was attentive and friendly. A lovely meal to celebrate a significant wedding anniversary.

The worst muscles I have ever eaten. No flavour, no seasoning at all, normally you can’t wait to mop up the extra sauce but the muscles looked and tasted like they were in dishwater. Extremely disappointing, given the muscles were €32 a head we expected...much better. Water was €6 for 500ml. I have no idea how this gets such great reviews. Never again. I thought as we were away from the main area we would avoid tourist traps but sadly no. One course and 2 drinks later €100 euro wishing we had just grabbed fries on the market, anything but eat here. Don’t order the muscles in white wine, or I’ll have to say “I told you so”. Whoever cooked that dish has no place in any kitchen.More

We had the loveliest meal here - I have dietary requirements (lactose intolerant) which can be a nightmare for eating out in countries that love cooking with butter! We went ahead of time to check the menu and speak to someone about my options for...eating there and they were extremely helpful. Then the meal itself was delicious. They gave us a little surprise appetiser which was very tasty and fresh. Then we had oysters to start which were amazing (and I take some convincing with oysters). I then had a main adapted to suit my dietary requirements - the fish skewer and it was incredible. Monkfish, Salmon and Prawn which just blew me away. The salad it came with had a really nice dressing and then the obligatory side of frites were also so tasty. The service was wonderful, the wine selection is massive and overall the atmosphere is cosy, comfortable and very authentic feeling. I would definitely return here for another meal.More

What a perfect night! We came without a reservation but was seated easily. Staff was delightfully professional, and the atmosphere was old world charming. We opted for the three course set menu, and unlike some other tourist places, we felt like that menu offered the...best they had to offer, and after choosing to add the wine option, we were met with great pairings, prompt service and sufficient pours that made for a worthwhile experience. We had a great meal, professionally delivered and, I'm a classic spot with relaxed charm.More

Visited for lunch twice during a short stay in Bruges. Superb food and hospitality on each occasion. A small friendly restaurant run by people who know their food. Thank you.

The food is comfort food, satisfying and well- prepared. We had been touring all day, filled with too many chocolates and wanted a substantial meal. Our hotel ,l’Orangerie recommended it. As an appetizer we were given local shrimps to be peeled with our fingers. Incredibly...sweet tasting. My husband had half a lobster in a delicious sauce. I tried the shrimp coquettes, very nice but very creamy. The side salad was an excellent balance. My main course was vol- au- Vent , chicken in pastry with a sauce of mushrooms and again creamy - with a side of fries. My ordering of two creamy dishes was my fault, not theirs because each was very good but way too much cream for me. My husband had the Flemish stew. He said the cut of meat was very good and he enjoyed it. From our guide’s description, I might have expected more vegetables. He had fries , perfect fries with his dinner. As we’re mine although I could not eat more than a few after my meal choices. Sadly. It is a friendly, helpful establishment and I did notice a goregous hunk of steak being grilled nearby, constantly checked. I can only imagine the taste of that beauty.More

True gem of local food and taste. The food was amongst the best we have had and the friendly/family ambiance was a great extra. This is a must when in bruges.

We were in Bruges for 3 nights and ate here on our first night (we found it just by wandering past it and liking the look of it and the menu, with no pre-planning). It is a smart place in an old building, tastefully decorated...and with period features and good furniture. They could accommodate us (couple) with no booking, but it is advised, this was a Monday night in reasonably low season. For main I wanted something traditional and local, so I had the Flemish stew. The portion was generous and the beef lovely, as was the gravy. It was served with a delicious endive salad and chips. My partner had fish skewer (also with chips), which she enjoyed. I had a lovely cold glass of white wine to accompany it. We were given a complementary small starter of raw (I think!) fish, truly delicious. the main courses also came with complementary bread, very fresh. Service was friendly, prompt and excellent. This delightful restaurant made a thoroughly good impression on us, and I urge you to try it.More

Beautiful food, relaxed atmosphere and excellent staff. The eels in green sauce was lovely and even came with a pot containing more! I can see why this place has always been full when we’ve passed by over the years.

It truly was a nice meal and I was shocked to see how low on the TripAdvisor list it is rated. We had sole meunière and steak au poivre and they were both really good and very size small portions. The desserts looked delicious but...we didn't have room. The restaurant was recommended by the hotel you're staying at and it was an excellent recommendation. Apart from the very touristy price fixe menus around the Square, we also felt that it was reasonably priced but again on the higher end. Absolutely worth trying.More

Restaurant table layout was a bit stuffy. You get waiters butts over your table every now and then when they serve the table next to you. Starters were good and promising. Beef Carpaccio was amazing, oysters were fresh and large. Main course we had the...mussels and fish skewer. Fish skewer was great, side salad was a bit sad for what you pay for, for the dish. The mussel soup with Brugse zot was delicious, unfortunately, there were a few bad mussels, and I ended up chewing on gritt and shell pieces. Showed the servers the gritt in the mussels, they offered to bring me a new batch, but as my appetite was ruined, I won't be eating another mussel for a while. Server came back saying they couldn't see what the issue was. Still made us pay for the mussels. Overall disappointed about the place. For the price you'd expect better service and quality. If you're in the mood for good mussels, go to poules moules next to this place, the service there is amazing, the mussels are tasty and not sketch, better value for money.More
