We came in last night with our friends for my birthday and the food was exceptional. Everyone was raving about the quality of the food. Service was very good as well. We both had 3 courses and 2 alcoholic drinks each for £90 and for...that quality and delicious food, amazing value in my opinion. We have eaten regularly at a lot of pubs near us but the ferry seems to consistently be a cut above the rest.More

We were told the food was good and this certainly wasn’t disputed. We were advised the burger was off the scale delicious - again true. Our daughter -who doesn’t eat meat - had a wide range of foods to choose from, she opted for haddock...in a lemony sauce which again was of outstanding quality. We sat outside with our dog, and watched the sun go down, a beautiful end to an unseasonably warm autumn day. The sunset spread a warm apricot across the sky over the landscape, sadly none of us are painters, but it is worthy of study by someone more talented than us. The staff displayed just the right amount of service making this an experience we will certainly hope to enjoy again.More

Fantastic pub in a lovely area. Good attentive staff, amazing food that wows us everytime we visit. Cannot recommend enough. We live in the area and we have a few good pubs on our list but the ferry is a cut above the rest. And...fairly priced for tasty home made feel, food.More

A last minute booking for Sunday lunch and we could not have been made more welcome. Very friendly young staff greeted us (and our dog) and sat us down at our table. We both chose the venison loin which was superb, slightly pink and very...tasty, with fresh vegetables and a beautiful accompanying sauce. The atmosphere of this pub is cosy, traditional, no music, just the sounds of chatter, the occasional dog wandering by and one or two locals stopping by to chat and feed our dog a biscuit. Totally charming and excellent food. Well done to the owners and staff. Off the beaten track but absolutely worth a visit.More

We were expecting great things given the previous reviews, but we were quite disappointed. The food was generally good (the salt marsh lamb rump was particularly good, scallops let down but a very sickly sauce and overpowering pancetta, great terrine and well-filled steak pie). Wine...was very average but pricey for what it was. However, the ambience was awful - brightly lit, shabby dining area stuck seemingly as an afterthought at the back of a busy pub. As a couple, we were placed on a table for 6 (made of smaller tables pushed together, so could have been separated), less than a foot from the kitchen door. Not conducive to a romantic and relaxing meal, and certainly not what we expected for the prices. Service was fairly chaotic too - we were not greeted as again we would expect. As others have said, a warm welcome for locals, less so for visitors. I suspect it’s no. 1 in Oxney because there is literally nothing else - it’s in the middle of nowhere! It was a shame as we were on a much-anticipated weekend away after several months of working extremely hard and not seeing much of each other. Wouldn’t go back, nor recommend to others.More

What an absolute gem of a pub. A must visit if passing even if it’s just a one of the well kept ales. It appears that people travel from the surrounding villages to eat and drink here which adds the lovely atmosphere. The waitress was...lovely, really looked after us and always had a smile on her face despite being very busy. Food - very good, fresh and good portions. One of the best meals we had put as family for a very long time. We left feeling very content with our experience.More

We went to the Ferry Inn for lunch today, as the menu looked good on their website, and we were not disappointed! For starters my Wife had scallops, I had chicken pate, both dishes were great. Main course was lemon Sole and seafood for my...Wife, I had a rather delicious Ferry Inn prime steak & chorizo burger. Just enough space left for pud, Vegan meringues, & Triple chocolate brownie for me.. Amazing food in an amazing pub that's almost in the middle of nowhere! It was cool to meet Polly the dog as well.. Will we go back??? Oh yes indeed :-)More

Visited on an overcast Thursday afternoon. We had read some negative comments but the menu look great so decided to visit. We received a friendly welcome and sat on a nice corner table. I had lamb rump. It was tender. The pave potato was deliciously...buttery and he onions had a hint of balsamic. I had a panna cotta to finish. Very happy with the overall experience 😊More
