Just try the restaurant upstairs: the food is great, the place looks out of the 1920s. Simple, but really nice. Service is friendly. Deserts are unforgettable.

If you are staying in Estremoz, this is a MUST GO restaurantt!! It's right in the center plaza of Estremoz, so it's very easy to find it. Better eat upstairs where you can enjoy the view from the balcony. This restaurante belongs to the Residence with the same name. The menu consists mostly on food from Alentejo, which is very... I can't say enough about this excellent local restaurant! Food cooked with love. Reasonable prices. Excellent service. Antique old building full of Portuguese charm. By far the best meal we had in Portugal in 10 days. Try the beans with pork & the veal chop. Unbelievable! Great value! €27 for 2 mains and a bottle of wine.

No one spoke English but we managed with our limited Portuguese. The restaurant was on the 1st floor of this fairly basic looking hotel but was a pleasant room with good service. We had couvert, soup, duck rice, (my wife had black pork, our friends enjoyed lamb chops), then a bowl of fresh cherries for dessert. That with 2 bottles... More

Food in Portugal never comes quickly, but this food took even longer than normal. It was good when it came: grilled tuna and lamb stew. The prices were reasonable and the value was good. You will enjoy the food, but don´t be in a hurry.

Great food but a very stressed waiter. Didn't want to put a proper abby chair to us at first, but in the end his wife helped. Great cheap food, super typical portgueuse. Worth a visit if you're in Estremoz!

Very down home kinda cookin', nothing special, very bland, but I find that this is the type of cuisine in this region. Lots of cod and black pork dishes. Still it hit the spot.

My wife and I were staying in one of the Pensao Alentejano rooms just down the hall from this second floor restaurant, and on the recommendation of a local, decided to give it a try. It was very good, but not great. We shared a main of Porco a alentejana (pork served with clams) which was excellent, but the bread... More

From the outside - totally unassuming - but on the inside, a gastronomic delight. The hearty food of the Alentejo region is served up in a no-nonsense style but ith great charm. Excellent gazpacho and appetizers, great house wine, delicious desserts.
