Prices to high! Charged £6 for covert not ordered. You would expect much more for the price you have to pay.

Chose this restaurant as it advertised chicken cataplana on the board outside. Promptly seated and wine order taken, no problem. When it came to ordering food I asked if the chicken cataplana contained any kind of seafood, only to be told that it did. When I said that we can't eat seafood the young waitress said she'd check if it... More

You'll find this little gem of a retaurant on, Rua Vasco da Gama, a small pedestrianised side street minutes away from Faro Marina and what a joy to visit. We are regular visitors to Faro, sometimes three times a year so we have dined at most of the local restaurants. Vasco da Gamo remains high on our favourites list. They... More

I was kind of desperate to get something to eat. It's a little hard in Faro because everything is so tourist oriented. I took a chance at Vasco and the reason for that was they were displaying there fish on ice right in front. I thought "food must be good and fresh here". Service was a little rough, and food... We have just eaten here. Shellfish soup was tasteless with just two small prawns in it. I had vegetable soup which was cold and tasteless also. I asked for potato rather than chips with my salad but it came with chips. I sent it back & was served cold boiled potato. On our bill we were charged €6euro for covert... More

Went there for dinner yesterday. Just off main streets in small paved pathway. We're looking for simple local food and got just that, with friendly and attentionate service. Had grilled fish platter - lots of fish that we just managed to finish. A waiter filleted all of them for us, to my wife's pleasure. Had a mix of local/holiday diners.... More

We were a group of 12 and decided to catch an early dinner to ensure we got a table for our bunch. It was so sloooow, barely edible and expensive. The worst experience of this holiday! Avoid this place at all cost unless you want to throw away money. A real tourist trap. Service is okay, no more. But the... More

The original decision was made when we stopped to check the menu for later on. The waiter (owner) came out and very modestly explain the dishes. We liked him very much after really bad experience in Lisbon , being chased and harassed to eat in their restaurants, but that's a whole another story. When we showed up later, he recognized... Nice small restaurant at one of the walking district side streets. Normal Portugese menu. I ate local sausages and grilled chicken which was very juicy and tasty. Dessert I ordered Irish Coffee, but got Cafe Latte, so be careful when you order Irish coffee, they don't know how to make it ;(
