Absolutely outstanding! We were for a week in Portugal and this was the best food we had by far. Would recommend without a doubt! It is a very local experience

Delicious tapas, local produce, good variety of dishes available, friendly service offering good advice on dishes and very reasonably priced. Not the most impressive surroundings but don’t let that deter you, go in and have a memorable meal
Delicious local food and very friendly service and atmosphere. Prices are very low. Best place to taste local disheses
A little way from the marina but well worth the walk. Friendly staff, superb food particularly the sardine bruschetta.
Really lovely unassuming restaurant serving great food at very reasonable prices! We had a mix of tapas and other meals and it was all great - the bruschetta was fantastic - really tasty! The lady (who runs it with her family) is lovely and friendly...and make us feel very welcome. If we are ever back in Faro we will definitely go back - we went 3 times during this trip!More
Very simple and relaxed restaurant with very tasteful authentic Portugese food. Delicious tapa do mar and pasteis de bacalhau com arroz. Very friendly people! We will be back!!!
This is one of a few restaurants that are open for a lunch at the end of November. Food is really delicious, people are gentle and what amazed us: they speak 5 languages. I highly recommend this place as a typical Portuguese cuisine.
Had been looking forward to this having read the reviews and fancying some traditional Portuguese food. On arrival at about 8pm, there was one other couple just leaving. “Are you English?”, we were asked. “The menu is on the wall, photograph it if you want”...Ok, novel I thought. Orders a drink- ‘do you have tonic?’ No! Was the response from a rather gruff old man. At this point we decided to drink and pay for our drink and leave. Made to feel as welcome as a cold sore popping up before a date.More
One of the best tapas meals we have ever had. Fabulous, friendly service, delicious food. We returned after having been here two years ago and we were not disappointed. A must for any travellers.
A lovely family run eatery, with modest prices and menu. Please do not expect Gordon Ramsay cuisine but good honest food simply prepared. It was my first day in Faro, I was staying not so far from Merceria and having walked past and looked at...the menu it looked a good place to start. I ordered a salad and cuttlefish strips fried and a 500ml carafe of white wine €2.00 for the wine.! It was clear to me this place was very popular with the the locals & that they knew the owners well. Even 2 off-duty Firemen arrived to have a late supper. My salad arrived quickly with the wine, a well chilled palatable house white. A little later my breaded cuttlefish strips. All very tasty.More
