This restaurant was recommended by the tourist office and we also saw good reviews on trip advisor. I don't know if we ordered the wrong thing or what, but we found the food to be just OK, not at all special, not particularly good (not bad either), and nothing special. Service was friendly and we liked the style of the... More

Medalhas serves well cooked typical Azorian food. We had morcela, morro cheese, local sausage and pork brochette. Big portions, good taste, good service.

Good typical local food, good pricing, friendly staff. Away from the mainstream and a lot of local people like this place too.

Our party of four tried the fried eel, fried red fish, lean pork loin and omelette with ham and cheese. Everyone felt the meal to be too oily for our liking. Portions were decent but prices were slightly steep compared to other similar restaurants. Overall a decent meal but probably not a place to waste a meal at unless everything... More

Visited this restaurant twice as the food was so good. It is a little bit out of the main tourist part of town, but well worth the walk

A typical restaurant with wooden tables and red check tablecoths. The waiter seemingly distracted at first became friendly. Good choice of typical Portuguese dishes all well prepared and delicious. Only fault was that one meal was delayed making it uncomfortable for the other diners. Can thoroughly recommend the liver dish.

I came here for dinner on my own to try more local food, and was not disappointed. The blood sausage served with orange was delicious and the veal steak with regional sauce even more. Highly recommended if you are looking for a traditional setting with tasty food. The price also seemed very reasonable.

We visited on a Friday evening, it was fairly empty when we came in a filled a little as the evening went on. As a starter we ordered a local cheese and bread, it was really tasty. For a main I had squid which was cooked just to my liking and my father had a plate of seven mackerel! The... More

A small menu, not spectacular. Server didn't seem too interested. We got much better service at Papa's Pizza.
