The place to be, bearing in mind there aren't so many places on the island. Nice atmosphere and service, a place rich with local history and the food is pretty good as well.

Peter's Bar is a very cozy, friendly food place just across the Horta marina. I enjoyed the gin tonic with the Peter gin ( made with passion fruit, love it.) I also love their so delicious garlic bread. Their dinner food was also good ,...we had the octopus dinner and the grilled codfish with potatoes and greens. Both times we vIsited, staff were efficient, very friendly. Peter's is a must see for sure in Faial.More
I'm unsure if the staff skipped the "101" course in hospitality before venturing into opening up a restaurant!Very abrupt service making us feel rather stupid. Food was ok but not in any rush to come back.
We received a recommendation from our tour guide and we’re very pleased with our meal and service. Get here early if you want to grab a table as it’s small and only takes reservations for large groups. We had seafood curry ( very good), garlic...bread ( some of the best I’ve ever had with what appeared to be fresh roasted garlic whipped into the butter), a salad with lots of variety such as corn, croutons, black olives , onion , tomato and greens). Finished off with coconut cake with meringue and chocolate on top. A bottle of white wine from Pico region was very nice. Super friendly woman waited on us and we plan to go back this week again. Value excellent.More
It's a popular place and feels quit cool and easy going with many sailors having a beer there but service is really average to bad. They don't care to serve you...they make you feel you are bothering them. They work without reservations but with waiting...list but they cannot really estimate when you will be seated and if its going to be inside or outside. Food was ok...I really liked the barracuda (fish of the day) and the fish soup. Tuna steak was a bit overcooked. The signature gin is overrated for my tastes. It was OK. Overall you may choose to go there to tick a box for a popular place but if you don't find space... don't consider it a miss!More
This was my second time here in 9 years both times the service & food was great . Definitely have to check this place out if you want a good lunch spot .
The staff were very friendly despite of he is very overloaded. The food and the drink is good, the place have a good mood and it was a great experience to be there. It is always crowded in the season time and if you don’t...have a reservation you need to wait, sometime 1 hour or more.More
Top rated hot spot in Horta Faial, Azores. Good food and drink always delicious. Love the outside patio. Parking is a challenge anywhere on the island. Unusually busy due to Semana De Mar, (festival if the sea) going on Aug4-13.
The drink and food served were good. The waiting time was unacceptable. After complaining I was treated poorly with extremely rudeness. I felt really mistreated.
Food was alright but nothing to special. We had drinks and dinner. We have been there because in every journal its a must go.
If you're in Horta, especially if you sail, you must go here. It's steeped in tradition and full of sailors jubilantly celebrating return to land after a long crossing. There's a pleasant outdoor deck overlooking the harbor. The food is above average, but, hey, it's...the ambiance and the tradition that make this place a destination.More
We had lunch in the outside deck . The view was nice over the marina but the service was poor . Not enough staff we had to go inside the bar to get our drinks and it was a long wait to get someone to...come to the table to provide a menu . The food was good and not overpriced . The portions were large . The drinks were just ok nothing special. We arrived when a cruise ship entered town perhaps the service would be better if a cruise ship was not in town.More
Lots of people sat outside here with coffee or beer, enjoying the views from the terrace. Seemed to be popular with the locals as well as the tourists.
Great service and amazing food. It has a fun atmosphere and good music. Our server Rafael was very friendly and made sure we had a good time. It was our favourite spot to go for a meal or just drinks. The fish soup and garlic...bread was so good! The beef skewer was over the top! It's THE place to go in Horta!More
Nice for a stop after diving to drink a gin do mar and eat a garlic bread. But far too crowded, people staying for too long ... The food is too expensive. In the same time, so nice pub, so great atmosphere and the team...is perfect. You have to stop once if you have the patience to wait on the pavement. There must be something to do to avoid the worst of the tourism...More
