Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Good prices. Large portions. Friendly, helpful staff. Convenient location in the center of town. Very diverse menu. Fresh seafood and fish. Salads were excellent especially the one with the tuna dressing. Tuna steaks were cooked perfectly and accompanied by a wonderful side dish of grilled...sweet potato slices topped with chopped marinated red onion, Greek yogurt and sesame seeds. Limpets were delicious. Great desserts. Always seem to be open when other restaurants in the area are closed. A fun place but usually crowded. Tavern atmosphere and we would definitely return.More

Not sure what people expect here but to us it was a decent experience, super friendly service and very accommodating - the quick bites we ordered have arrived promptly, we had our beer and were off the catch a ferry back to Pico - a...nice ending to a day trip to Faial. Definitely the place has a history and a character, they even have a souvenir shop by the same name, and a tour company - good for them. Probably, my only dislike would be some people who come here just drink toooo much and get at times out of control, especially the younger crowds who can't handle their alcohol sadly but haven't we all been there done that at some point of life,,,,More

Nice atmosphere and beer was good however my medium Tuna Steak came totally rare so I sent it back for them to cook it a bit more. Half an hour later it came back completely dried up and in additional there was a horrible sauce...made out of raw onions on some rather burnt potatoes. Would not visit again for food but happy to go for a beer or two.More

We had a good vege curry - more like a mushroom stroganoff but I'm not complaining. Really nice hot chocolate too. Friendly staff with nautical history dripping from the walls and ceiling.

The place to be, bearing in mind there aren't so many places on the island. Nice atmosphere and service, a place rich with local history and the food is pretty good as well.

Peter's Bar is a very cozy, friendly food place just across the Horta marina. I enjoyed the gin tonic with the Peter gin ( made with passion fruit, love it.) I also love their so delicious garlic bread. Their dinner food was also good ,...we had the octopus dinner and the grilled codfish with potatoes and greens. Both times we vIsited, staff were efficient, very friendly. Peter's is a must see for sure in Faial.More

I'm unsure if the staff skipped the "101" course in hospitality before venturing into opening up a restaurant!Very abrupt service making us feel rather stupid. Food was ok but not in any rush to come back.

We received a recommendation from our tour guide and we’re very pleased with our meal and service. Get here early if you want to grab a table as it’s small and only takes reservations for large groups. We had seafood curry ( very good), garlic...bread ( some of the best I’ve ever had with what appeared to be fresh roasted garlic whipped into the butter), a salad with lots of variety such as corn, croutons, black olives , onion , tomato and greens). Finished off with coconut cake with meringue and chocolate on top. A bottle of white wine from Pico region was very nice. Super friendly woman waited on us and we plan to go back this week again. Value excellent.More

It's a popular place and feels quit cool and easy going with many sailors having a beer there but service is really average to bad. They don't care to serve you...they make you feel you are bothering them. They work without reservations but with waiting...list but they cannot really estimate when you will be seated and if its going to be inside or outside. Food was ok...I really liked the barracuda (fish of the day) and the fish soup. Tuna steak was a bit overcooked. The signature gin is overrated for my tastes. It was OK. Overall you may choose to go there to tick a box for a popular place but if you don't find space... don't consider it a miss!More

The staff were very friendly despite of he is very overloaded. The food and the drink is good, the place have a good mood and it was a great experience to be there. It is always crowded in the season time and if you don’t...have a reservation you need to wait, sometime 1 hour or more.More

Top rated hot spot in Horta Faial, Azores. Good food and drink always delicious. Love the outside patio. Parking is a challenge anywhere on the island. Unusually busy due to Semana De Mar, (festival if the sea) going on Aug4-13.

The drink and food served were good. The waiting time was unacceptable. After complaining I was treated poorly with extremely rudeness. I felt really mistreated.
