Gorgeous view, the best spot on the island, wonderful place and service But, the food is only ok and overpriced., Go for the simple, cheap food and enjoy the view

The treat foreigners poorly, the owner, and staff are rude. The food isn’t fresh and tasted terrible. The only bad meal I’ve had in Portugal in 7 trips. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all cost……

Authentic atmosphere and a good choice for dinner. We expected a bit more variety on the fish dishes. None of the many locally caught bottom fish were on the menu. If you look for something special a different choice might be more better.

Straightforward menu. Good fish & seafood. Service was good. We prebooked so we were lucky to sit at a window table & watch the sunset over the sea. Genuino the owner who sailed around the world solo was at the till & very happy to...answer my son’s questions. Memorabilia from his travels decorate the restaurant. One of the best restaurants in Horta.More

Genuino is definitely a reference restaurante in Horta. Genuine in the food, genuine in the sympathy of the staff, genuine on the decoration and the view. The tuna steak is a must!!!

Maybe a victim of its own fame. Food was just OK (and the fish soup was definitely under seasoned). The saving grace was the octopus rice which was quite good.

It is an experience visiting this restaurant and the owner telling you his experience of his round-the-world sailing trip in solo which he did two times. You will see decorations from all the places where he stayed. We took the "arroz peixe" which is a...mixture of rice and swordfish which was very good but not the most up-market of the meals. It is recommended to book in advance. Service was excellent.More

The restaurant is on the sea, and the sight is amazing. The fish is fresh, very well cooked and tasty. Prices are very reasonable and portions big. The waiter and the owner are very kind and attentive. Very much recommended. Try the fish and chips!
