I'm cautious of sidewalk cafes where the waiters are flagging you down with proffered menus. We were hungry and footsore and, quite honestly, the food I could see on other diner's plates at Casa Acoreana looked fresh and inviting. We took the plunge and ordered the grilled polvo special along with the mackerel. What an enjoyable meal! The polvo was... More

I was very surprised to see the negative reviews from some diners on this restaurant. We had a very nice meal here, accompanied by excellent service. Everything was really good. I enjoyed the special that night, which was a mackerel served with roasted sweet potatoes and other veggies. I had an appetizer of melon with prosciutto ham, and a dessert... More

We found this place just passing by. What a pleasant surprise! The best thing about it is that the retsuarant offers local produce and traditional Açores cuisine. Local beer served in custom made cups tasted very original and refreshing. We took olives and super fresh bread, very tasty! Make sure you order chorizo on fire - quite surprising DIY and... More

As this restaurant turned out to be the only one with a table being available as for one reason or the other it was very busy around town, we decided to sit down here. The waiter told us to take some menus and seat ourselves. After that, we waited for almost half an hour and attempts to get the waiters'... More

And I feel very generous giving a single star. You don't need to have an understanding of being a restaurateur that Casa Acoreana is gravely poor. Where to begin? I am unsure. Issues: Service. Dining was al fresco and high season. I believe roughly 60-70 seats. I counted four service staff and two chefs. Not enough. What happened? Chaos. Being... More

The first day we arrived at Ponta Delgada, we roamed the streets to find a place to eat. By accident, we arrived at Casa Acoreana. The original interieur and the menu card catched our eye. We had a nice meal there and were served by very friendly staff. Thank you for the nice start of our holiday.

Our first impression of the restaurant was quite good, the taste food wasn't too bad. The problem started a few hours after having tuna, from which I got scombroid food poisoning for which I had to be taken to the hospital. The day after I went back at the restaurant to explain what happened to me and expecting to at... More

On July 2015 we went to this restaurant to eat some typical food of the Azores. A friend of mine ate some tuna with salade and others side dish. Firstable the salade cream was absent. The fish was overcook and after a while my friend started to feel sick and he looked out really bad. We went to the hospital... More

I went there with a few friends. The menu is very short and expensive, the fish over cocked. Never gonna get there again. Not recommended!

Lots of outdoor tables in a somewhat rundown neighbourhood. Friendly waitstaff brought drinks and bread quickly but it was a long wait to dinner arriving. Tuna was quite nice with peppers and veg. Chicken was fine. Pork was a bit dry. Perhaps they are trying to deal with too many tables in the summer season.
