Make a reservation you will not be disappointed. Take a Picturesque drive to a small village that is home to the winery Quinta do Encontro. The building is circular in shape ask why if you are interested in the design concept. You are greeted and taken to a an oval room with a fireplace given sparkling wine while selecting your... More

At an extraordinary architectural spot in the middle of the vineyards of Bairrada, Quinta do Encontro has a very good restaurant, with good food, nice prices and nice staff, apart from the winery where one can buy very good Portuguese regional wines.

Be sure to program your GPS to find this winery because it is definitely off the beaten track. Having said that, it is a wonderful drive through the various villages on the way from Figueira da Foz. When you arrive at the winery, you will first be taken back by the building on the winery grounds. When we arrived for... More

A stunning modern winery with restaurant, part of the Dao Sul group which also operates the winery/restaurants Quinta de Cabriz and Paco dos Cunhas de Santar together with other wineries. This restaurant with views across the vineyards shows that it is not always "Standard Portuguese fare", however tasty this may be. Here, good presentation, colours, and modern cuisine are the... What a fabulous surprise in the middle of rural Central Portugal. Not the easiest place to find but worth the effort. The building is a stunning piece of architecture surrounded by vineyards. The ever attentive staff greet you with a glass of sparkling wine whilst you peruse the menu, which caters for every wallet from dishes of the day to... More

Beautiful building. Great, helpful staff, and made to feel very welcome. Food tasted great, but portions were rather small. A touch of style over substance about the place.

Top food, top wines, top spot. This is one of those places you think your wallet will be empty by the end of the meal but no. It is very beautiful, with lots of good wines and extremely cheap for the kind of restaurant it is and the experiences it provides. To repeat without a doubt

We live between the Bairrada and Dao wine regions in central Portugal, and over 5 years have visited many vineyards, some with restaurants. In 2012 we discovered Quinta do Cabriz and had a superb day there. They gave us leaflets for their other vineyards and we were intrigued by one in a round building, so off we went to Quinta... More
