Had a tropical chicken salad . That was good and what I expected for this price range . Chicken was real chicken and fruit fresh!

They specialize in fish. I have been recommended the seabass plate. Fresh parsley and lemon are served to complement the fish, with a salad and some potatoes. Great value.

This dish, called fish festival or something like that, was the best fish I've had in years! Just magnificent!!! Very nice service, polite and friendly. If I could, I could rate 6 out of 5, but unfortunately just the service and the food. I was wondering if I should deduct one or two ratings for the rest of the restaurant, and I decide just for one, and here is the reason for the deduction. Namely, both of the waitresses were very polite and helpful, but didn't look like part of the staff. Both had some random clothes. Secondly, there was a huge pile of unwashed utensils behind the bar, because there wasn't enough personnel to do it. But the worst part were the toilets. The pissoirs were clogged, the toilet seat broken etc., all a complete contrast to the restaurant! It is a great shame for a restaurant that serves such delightful dishes! And last piece of advice to the owner: in order to raise up a level, loose the big screen TV, it doesn't belong there! In conclusion, I would definitely come back to this restaurant, but only if the toilets are way better than now.

Thank you for your review! First of all, we like to apologize for that situation. Yes, it was a complicated day with lots of costumers and not enough personnel... We're very sorry for the inconvenient. It's very important to know our costumers opinion, in order to improve our service, so we thank you for that honest review. Hope you come back one day so we can compensate you for that inconvenient!

We were looking at the letter and they came out to sit us down. How we wanted to eat, we didn't care. He brought us some tapas to snack on first. We ordered. They took 45 minutes to bring the cuttlefish (q were breaded squid tails) and did not bring the sauce. When they brought her in, we ate cold. Then they brought us the mushrooms to port, which were tin mushrooms. And finally the wine came, the cooler never came. The bread never came either. But they didn't pick up the empty plate from the tails. Then he brought the picaña, which was not what I expected, gave my partner time to renew the parking ticket, as it took an hour and a half between plate and plate. And I had to help pick up the table to get the plate in. Then we wanted to leave with no dessert, no coffee, no shot. It was horrible. We had to help the waitress who almost threw everything x at me. And he brought us the bill, with the lid q dan, plus those on the next table. I don't recommend anyone go. Those next door were also poorly served and ordering drinks. A mess. I think the worst in the whole world

Very nice welcome from the waiters. They are all caring and attentive. They take the time to find out if everything is going well. We took clams as a starter that were very good, despite the fact that personally I do not like seafood. As a dish we took an assortment of fish and a grilled salmon. The fish are fresh and succulent. Vegetables are tender and everything is seasoned to perfection. For dessert we were treated to mango and abacaxi (a kind of pineapple) which were fresh and sweet.

Simply spectacular! For 6 adults we ate one "table" of meat and another of fish, on the Recommendation of the chef and we did not regret it. Both meat and fish were 5 stars...there was nothing left not because it was small quantity but because it was a delight, it would be a pity to spoil! An experience to repeat without doubt! Staff who served us also quite friendly. I recommend, TOP!

Food was satisfactory, but the service was abysmal and the state of the lavatories left much to be desired.

My wife and I read some reviews and we decided to try it. Was nearly empty. Should have never got in..I know how balcalhau a brasa must be served. We ordered for 2 people. When it came it look like food for babies. The "bacalhau" was completely shred it mixed with mash potatoes and on too of that bones. That was the the main ingredient..BONES. we sent it back..when the waiter asked us ..we told him that wasn't unbearable. He didn't give a toss. At the same time other 2 tables complained about the food. The manager's was sitting down sipping wine and having her little soup.. even though 75%of the restaurant was complaining about substandard food. Even though was despicable the food we were slapped with the full bill. RUNAWAY ..

We were on a tour and only had an hour for lunch (nowhere near enough time to do Aveiro justice!). We chanced upon Cafeina Nos Arcos and they said that they could get us a meal quickly. We ordered a mixed platter of grilled seafood and shared it amongst 4 of us. The fish was perfectly cooked, super fresh, tasty. Service was very efficient. I just wish we had longer to enjoy it!

Whilst looking for a nice fish restaurant within Aveiro old town we stumbled across this little gem of a restaurant. The waiter came out to instruct us that we wanted to try the Festival of Fish sharing platter and we didn't argue. Whilst waiting for the feast to arrive we were presented with mussels to try and they were superb. The fish platter was served on a bed of roasted potatoes which too were very tasty. As others have noted the fish was amazing, caught that day and grilled to perfection. The selection included salmon and tuna steaks, dourada, bass, a baby octopus, little quids, a sardine and maybe something else, it really was a lot to take in and we were not able to finish it all. The local Dão branco wine which we chose was the perfect accompaniment. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was calm and relaxed. I would recommend this restaurant and dish to anyone who appreciates good fish, only take a big appetite, more friends or a doggy bag.

I chose this restaurant because I loved the decor and view right on the plaza. But we were so glad because the food was fantastic! Our waitress recommended the Festival of Fishes platter which seemed like it was going to be much too much for us. When it came, we were sure it was too much . There were about 7 or 8 fresh caught local fish grilled I'm olive oil and herbs cooked on top of roasted potatoes. Once we started eating, it was so good that we ate up every bit! The price was very reasonable considering how delicious it was. We also had a glass apiece of a Douro wine which was wonderful! Many kudos to this excellent small restaurant. Our only small complaint was having American blues music superimposed on the tv noises.

After finding that most restaurants were closed on a Sunday night in Aveiro, we were pleased to come across Cafeina nos Acros. The 2 women who served us were delightful and the meal was hearty, fresh and very enjoyable indeed. And very reasonably priced!!! Complimentary bread, delicious olives and a side salad that was not only a treat for the palate but also the eyes. Yes a few unusual combinations but all contributed to a meal that was put together with care and pride. Highly recommend.

We are cyclists from Canada who biked from Porto to Lisbon. We loved everything about Portugal - the sights, the landscape but especially the people. Aveiro was a delightful stop for us. We had a delicious evening meal in a very warm and attractive atmosphere in Cafeina. The staff were outstanding in their welcoming, friendly nature and service.
