Excellent Portuguese food. Great staff. Homemade bread. The "posta mirandesa " is absolutely amazing. If you go to Coimbra you can't miss this restaurant.

Probably the best kept secret in Coimbra, wide range of offers, cooked in an open kitchen where everything looks and tastes like home. Posta Mirandesa and bacalhau are suggested. Staff not very proactive but nice and cozy.

We had dinner at A Taberna recommended by a local friend. The restaurant is small with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Everything is cooked in a wooden oven. The food is very authentic and delicious. We tried octopus, goat and a dish called chanfrana (she-goat cooked in red wine for 8 hours). Divine! Chef Gil deserves 5 stars!

We had to drive around a bit - the famous roundabouts - and found it, unassuming outside on an ordinary street but what a lovely interior - wood and lovely lighting and views right onto the grill and kitchen and very happy chef in his apron and white shirt - and he had a lot to be happy about. Selection... More

We took a tip from Trip Advisor and stopped in for lunch and are we happy we did! The Cabrito was the best my wife had ever eaten; crispy on the outside and tender in the middle. I had a fish dish that was as fresh as could be. The service was impecable. During the meal you are treated to... More

This restaurant is a treasure I'm Coimbra. No one should come to Portugal without visiting this place. Think about best service, best local food, lots of love for what they do.... This is it. We went there two times. The first one we ordered the mushrooms for appetizers which were melting on our mouths, the bread is so so delicious,... More

Simple home cooking, typical Portuguese but fantastic quality and for a great price. This restaurant represents exactly what I love about Portuguese cuisine and gastronomy culture. Homeliness, simplicity but great quality.

I'm a local and I have dined here a couple of times, and it was very good every time! The staff is also very friendly and the mood is cozy and home-like because of the warm colours and big old stove. I suggest the roasted lamb - delicious for a big tasty dinner
