We had a very nice dinner there. The waiter was very helpful and coil advise us very clearly. The wine selection was very large, we made a very price friendly choice. It is right that the ill turns out a bit higher compared with Portuguese standard. But you still end to pay much less for seashells than in other countries.... More

A shellfish institution! A large restaurant that accommodates large groups. Was pleasantly surprised. Although the restaurant has a smokers' area in front, an excellent and quiet extractor takes care of any hint of smoke/smell. Dinner was very good and wine was excellent!

Hard to beat fish/seafood restaurant. Very good and quick service, excellent wine cellar, and top notch seafood everyday. Expensive, but definitely worth it once in a while.

Why people still bother with the horror show that is Ramiro I will never know. Just a five minute walk from the Jeronimos in Belem. All the classics, well prepared with a real menu and good service. Not cheap but worth it.

They offer a sort of fruit de mer comprised of cold boiled seafood as selected by you. I admit we got carried away but since our main meal of the day is lunch (at least on this trip), we felt it okay to overorder and overeat. We had a 1,28 kilo spiny lobster, a bunch of percebes (goose neck barnacles)... More

This place is a little off central Lisbon but definitely worth a visit. As a local, this is one of my two favourite places for seafood in the area. The king crab stuffed headshell and the fried baby squids are really superb and a must. Ask for fresh toasted bread for the crab and sprinkle a little lemon juice over... More

Staying in Belem

Neighbourhood Profile
Belem
Belém is the "capital of the Portuguese Discoveries" and a photographer's paradise. You can spend an entire day exploring this neighborhood: monuments (Jerónimos Monastery, Belém Tower, Monument to the Discoveries), museums (Coach Museum, Centro Cultural de Belém) and breathtaking views of the Tagus river will make your visit worth your time. Belém also offers a variety of restaurants and cafes, namely the famous - and delicious - "Pastéis de Belém" (typical Portuguese custard tarts; make sure you buy an extra box of those!). Easily accessible from Lisbon's historic center, Belém is a must-do, especially if you're spending more than one day visiting the Portuguese capital.
