Just steps away from Praça do Rossio/ Praça de D. Pedro IV, and Praca da Figuera, this is a wonderful and inexpensive place to buy “natas”, croissants and other bakery items, hot and cold sandwiches, savouries, teas, coffees and more. Perfect for "any time" snacks, but also good for breakfast and other times of day as they also offer some good combination menus. See their website for menu info and pricing in English. Can takeaway or sit in. You can see pastels de nata being made on the premises. Highly recommend their natas, but also the really tasty toasted cheese and ham sandwiches which we enjoyed twice. Took them back to our nearby accommodation and they were still warm. Two branches in Lisbon. Their other branch at Praça dos Restauradores 62 (close to and almost opposite Rossio train station) is similar but different and has outdoor seating areas.

We have tried Pastel de Nata in various places, but non of them offer such a delicious and crispy biscuit as here. No wonder, because they are prepared on site - you can watch the work through the glass. Pastel de Nata accompanied us every day throughout our stay in Portugal and we will miss them.

I had my first Pastel de Nata here on the first day of reaching Lisbon and I knew the next days of my holidays are going to be spent on eating these little pieces of joy every chance I get. Regarding this place, the best thing is that you get the freshest of the pastels and you can see the artists work live making these delicious addictions. For me the pastels were just the right amount of sweet and warm. The place is amazing with lot of sitting space. It is not as crazy busy as the Belem but still has lot of crowd coming in but one can find space to sit much more quickly. you can get different coffee and wine selections (including quality Port wines). They are proud of their history and it is written all over the interior decors. Really good place.

A great place to try Pastel da Nata, the beautiful custard tarts that are so popular in Lisbon. Fabrica da Nata is located on the main pedestrianised shopping road which leads down to the river, and they serve wonderful freshly baked and warm pasteis da nata. There are small tables in the store where you can stand and enjoy these with a coffee or a glass of port wine, and they also serve a selection of other pastries and sandwiches. Very busy but well with a visit!

A friend of mine who visited Portugal recommended this place. However, as a Portuguese citizen, I was very disappointed with the "pasteis de nata"... I didn't find them tasty. The cafe was empty which was a bit strange for a central place. On the other hand, you can sit on the first floor and enjoy the view with a nice environment.

Nice chain cafe located on the main street in central Lisbon. It has both indoor and outdoor seating. Very reasonably priced breakfasts. Ham & cheese croissant, pastel de nata and a latte for 3.90 Euros. Ate here every morning and would be happy to do so again if we return to Lisbon.

We popped in for a quick coffee and cake. Ideally located on the main tourist drag. The service was not great. The server hot my order wrong despite me explaining what I wanted from the very basic menu and despite me posting to exactly what I wanted from the menu. When i queried the incorrect order, he then started saying he didn't understand English. Unbelievable, in the most tourist visited part of town! Nevertheless, the pastels da nata were delicious 😋! I wouldn't go back to sit and eat, just grab a cake and go.

Flaky crust and a custard like crême brulée, always fresh out of the oven and hot in our hands. Theirs were our favorite pastels da nata. Fabrica is a true pastry shop, not a store sending out tarts on a conveyor belt like Manteigaria.

Decided to try this nata place as it looked nice & was pretty busy. Did not like the look of the pale-looking nata we got but the pastry was surprisingly crisp & the custard was nice & gooey. We had gone straight from Manteigaria so it doesn't quite compare to the latter but was decent enough. Couldn't resist the bacalhau as it was the last chance we could get any & they were very mediocre - cold & pretty bland. Probably the worst we have had. They sell a range of other things like sandwiches as well & we didn't try these so not sure what the quality was like but if you want the best nata, go to Manteigaria which is further down Rua Augusta!

Wow factor here!! The famous pastry here is an art, they serve it nice and warm, this should be eaten with a nice Porto wine. It’s known that only three people know the original recipe of this speciality, I am pretty sure that this is one of three. The Tea Room upstairs is superb.

I personally preferred the location of the shop on Praca dos Restauradores, but the Pastéis de Nata were the same. Only issue I had was seeing the bakers work without hair nets. The hygiene standards are questionable.

We found this bakery making pastels in the window just near to our hotel, Browns Central. Great coffee and superb pastel da nata. Lots of locals eat here, so join them, you will not be disappointed. Of, it’s also really cheap !

This place offers incredibly tasty pasteis. It is positioned in the center of the city, and it is the perfect start for the day. I have tried different pastry shops, however this one remain my favorite one. Definitely worth it!

Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
