This was so, so much fun. Let's start with the setting. The restaurant is built into the middle of a 19th century aqueduct. We sat across from the main chute in an area for removing impurities from the water. We did the port wine tasting so we had tapas - told the host to bring what she thought we'd like... More

It's hard to call this tapas 'tapas'. Every plate offers an incredibly delicate taste sensation. Beyond excellent food and wine, the unique location and history really make this a Lisbon gem worth uncovering...

We came for the happy hour wine tasting, planning to move for dinner. We ordered a couple of the dishes, and were so impressed with the quality that we changed our plans. Apart from the interesting wines, highlights included the pasta (sort of sheep cheese ricotta with spinach stuffed into fresh pasta, with a pumpkin cream sauce; the duck; and... More

I stumbled across this place, so had no preconceptions. I had the light tasting menu at €22 for 3 tapas courses + dessert. Lovely wines (3) with this menu, and a very good wine list anyway. Between 6 and 8 they also do a happy hour wine tasting. I'll do that next time! The food was very good. Service friendly... More

We came here to taste Portugese specialty, port wines. We found just the right tasting option for the price we liked from a wide variety of options. The wines were tasty, and we received an interesting historical introduction as well from who we perceived as the owner. Staff was in general nice, we didn't miss anything. The building is very... The best way to celebrate my wedding day. My wife and I love the atmosphere, the local, service and about everything, the wines...If you think to go by car, forget it and take a taxi...

We ate outside here one evening and thought the wine and tapas were of a very good quality for the price. Would recommend this more as a snack/starter though as the tapas did not really satisfy as meal.

We stayed at an Airbnb right next door to this hidden gem. The service was okay (woman was a bit rude). We selected an amazing Douro 2014 wine for 15 £uros. We enjoyed the inside of this location and the bossa nova playing in the background! We would return!

In Lisbon for a long week-end with friends from Norway. I had been here before and remembered it as an interesting place (architecture) with very interesting wines. I see mixed reviews from other visitors but we loved it. I unfortunately started out by insulting Gernas to the German host (!!!!) but that did not put a damper on the evening.... More

This was 100 m away from our hotel (Botanico). The staff were great, very friendly. We had appetizers and wine when we went, which was every day for the 3 days we were there! The staff were always happy to help with wine or food pairing suggestions, they sat and chatted with us. We referred our friends they and they... More
