This was our second time in Portugal visiting some old friends whom recommended this place for our anniversary. We found a great deal online that allowed a three-course meal and a fado show for an amazing price. The hospitality, charisma, personality, and attention this restaurant...More

We walked by the place after our visit of the national pantheon and reserved a table for six at the same evening. It was simply perfect. The food was excellent (4 courses) and the fado concert was awesome. Two singer - Daniala Giblott and Joao...More

I can’t think of one redeeming characteristic of this restaurant except for the good fado singing. Horrible service. Bad food—although the seafood pallella at our neighboring table looked delicious. There has to be a better dado restaurant to visit.

This place offered one of the most expensive, yet one of the worst foods of our whole stay in Lissabon. The place just milks the cash out of unsuspecting tourists, with ridiculous prices of low quality products. The Fado was nice, but that thats about...More

Esquina de Alfama is a tiny local restaurant serving local food along with Fado singing. The evening was the highlight of my trip to Lisbon. I particularly liked the homey atmosphere, the food was delicious, and the Fado singers who were exceptional. After starting off...More

Yes, this place is a tourist trap, but so what. If you want to enjoy fado music, one has to go to a tourist trap, just as if you want to hear country music in Nashville or jazz in New Orleans. The difference here is...More

Fado performances were great (but don't have anything to compare to). Food was poor. Steak was tough and undercooked. Mixed meat dish was better but pork also was undercooked. Service was very poor. Took 30 minutes for the server to take the order. Cutlery was...More
