The relaxed atmosphere | The excellent service | The food is very good | Sound is very nice | Very open interaction with house staff | Great place to enjoy traditional food from Setubal, namely fried cuttlefish | You can not be disappointed.

The salads are fresh as are the fish well cooked . This is not a tourist spot it is where locals go for a meal . Unsophisticated solid home cooking an adorable scene

Went for lunch, a decision made on previous TripAdvisor reviews. The service was freindly and prompt, however the food was a real let down. We both had the roasted cod. Bland and disappointing is the only way to sum it up, best thing we're the potatoes. The bog problem was that lunch has ruined our first day as we have... More

We could not get in on our first attempt but after reading other reviews we booked in advance. Overall we were very disappointed. The service can only be described as disinterested - we were not offered bread, a starter, a desert or coffee. Probably we could have got these if we had asked but we did not not feel we... More

We booked in advance for our last 2 nights in Lisbon. The service, food and atmosphere were all excellent. The azeitao cheese and spicy sausage with really fresh bread makes a great starter. Our party tried 2 of the curries (chicken and octopus) which were both well served with perfectly cooked basmati rice. The chicken curry has a better flavour,... More

Such a delight! Cheese, olives, chorizo and bread followed by Octopus and Seafood cataplanas - all so good we went back a second time for Seafood Rice, Roast octopus and Roast cod. Felippe and father excellent hosts and the chef, the mother, presents you with such delicious food. Well worth a visit but make sure you book!

Last night in Lisboa at o arco. The perfect dinner for us with a fantastic food. The prices are good and the service extraordinary cool. Anyway the place is not very big so a reservation is recommended.

This is a father and son joint, both are very friendly (especially the son very helpful) and I would recommend booking a table to avoid disappointment as O Arco is extremely popular! I made the mistake of turning up last Sunday evening without a reservation, be sure to book! As for the food, I ordered their hallmark dish, the seafood... More

We saw this place whilst trying to find somewhere to eat on our first night, it was fully booked though so we booked for later in the week, as the guy we spoke to was very helpful and friendly. Well worth the wait. The staff were really friendly. The food was amazing, we went off of the owners recommendations and... More

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
