You think you are going to get good quality but you are not. Pastel de nata was good, but served without a spoon or a tissue. The mango juice was supposed to be fresh but tasted diluted. Worse was the service, no smile, pretending to...More

Typical grand style confeitaria. Everything tasted good from fresh orange juice to the pastries. Every bigger city or place needs such a venue.

Macaroons were fresh and cappuccino was good but the fruit cake was stale and string pastry was so loaded with icing we could not eat it. Food in the counter upstairs looked like it had been there for hours. Very expensive for what it is.

This spot was recommended by our guide while on a food tour. We went to try it the following day and kept coming back! It’s in the center of a popular tourist area so it was very convenient. The custard tarts were the best in...More

Nowhere in North America or the UK (or most of Portugal, we would suspect) would a café charge for the few drops of milk you put in your tea any more than they would charge extra for sugar. But this place charges €0.95 or roughly...More

Among many cafes we've visited in Lisbon, this was probably the best one. Coffee is still bad, thought, but that's true for everywhere in Lisbon. But their pastry is quite good.

Downstairs tables were full so we went to the cafeteria upstairs. The cakes were OK, but we expected better given the reputation of the cafe.

Went in with high hopes given that the place claims to be the oldest patisserie in Lisbon. My chocolate cake looked enough good on the plate, but had no real taste. The cappuccino was undrinkable - barely above room temperature and with far too much...More

Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site,
Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply
"Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake
construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755
earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its
name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in
