Very nice food, and friendly service. Odd to go for Indian food in Portugal, but, with one of our party vegetarian this was perfect, lot's of choice here.

Walked in here for lunch and the place did not disappoint. Ended up ordering take out again the next day and still was as good as it was the first day. Dal Makhni and lamb curry were awesome! Nice and friendly service too.

It isn't the first thing you think about when you arrive in Lisboa but this was one of the best Indian dinners I had outside of India since I went there. Service was very good and the food even better! I fell in love with the check...

Excellent find in Lisbon! We started with the chicken samosa as our appetizer and enjoyed some simple chicken dishes (e.g., chicken tikka marsala, buttered chicken), plain and garlic naan, white rice w/ almonds and grapes, and then shared a bottle of vinho verde! Excellent service and great atmosphere! :)

Lovely dinner, stopped in during a very busy night and the staff was accommodating and friendly. The food was fantastic. Worth the visit.

My wife and I paid a visit to Indian Gate after having read all the positive reviews and we were not disappointed. Enjoying Chicken samosas as a Starter - probably the best that we have had in a while, followed by Butter Chicken and Tikka Masala. While the former lived up to our expectations, the Tikka Masala needed some extra... More

Small place but well lit. Service was excellent, we had fritters, samosa, paratha, garlic naan. Prawns korma, lamb curry and tandoori chicken. We 3 finished it all plus a bottle of house red wine that was full bodied. We ended with apple lemon tea. Great food.

If you get tired of salted cod, and need an "Indian fix" this is a good place. It is close to the center of town (an easy walk from Baixa). The food is standard Indian fare. The bread (nan) was very good, and the mango lassi excellent. We had two curries one vegetarian and the other chicken. Both very good,... More

The food and service were excellent. We enjoyed our meal very much and it is one of the best Indian meals we have had in Portugal. One word of warning. A man attempted to snatch my bag as we were approaching the restaurant. It's a dimly lit and steep street. My advice would be to take a taxi. It would... More

We went there due to the exciting critics and because the restaurant was close to our apartment. The place itself looks like a typical Indian restaurant. The waiter was nice and friendly. The menu isn't very large but big enough to find something we liked. We had a chili chicken and two paneer dishes. The food came quickly and was... More

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
