There was quite a queue because of the coach groups from cruise ships but staff were efficient, friendly and provided excellent service. Coffee could have been a bit hotter but was still very good as were the custard tarts.

It was nice to go into a restaurant attached to a museum and not be ripped off. We had lovely fresh soup, and great quite and salad at very reasonable prices. They had a good selection of snacks or more substantial meal of the day.

We stopped here for a coffee and pastry while in Belem. The pastry was fine but the coffee was mainly hot milk with virtually no coffee in and I could not finish it. Having had great coffee elsewhere in Lisbon this was very disappointing.

Dear Madam, we are sorry for such an unsatisfying experience. We work with a very good brand of coffee (bogani) e we are known for our barista service. Please complain at the spot so we can undo the wrongdoing and give you an excellent service. Sometimes, rarely I might add, we mess up and the latte is too cold or... More

Stopped for a coffee and pastel de nata. Both excellent and very reasonably priced. Well worth the visit

Not much more to add to the recent reviews. It's well placed as a good stopover break from the museums and monastery. Pleasant to sit in or outside and music free, thankfully. This is really to endorse the other comments about good food, a good range of drinks. We thought it might be expensive but it was good value. The... More

This cafeteria is handy both those visiting the Museu de Marinha and those who are visiting the Mosteiro dos Jeronimos. It can be found at the western end of the monastery. It is attached to the modern building housing the collection of royal barges. There are not too many places handy for lunch in the immediate vicinity so it is... More

A relaxing, not too busy and well located cafe after a very interesting museum tour. There's also free wifi. And it's located next to a well stocked souvenir shop.

Had a nice vegetarian pasta dish with fresh dark green salad, fresh lemonade with minced fresh mint, and apple cake. Yum! They had a decent selection, pastries, salads, sandwiches, and hot selections that included roasted pork ribs and potatoes. Sitting outside was lovely, and made a great respite from walking around all the museums.

For historical naval fanatics, this is an absolute must to see. The cafeteria at the end of the visit is worth a good cup of coffee.

Staying in Belem

Neighbourhood Profile
Belem
Belém is the "capital of the Portuguese Discoveries" and a photographer's paradise. You can spend an entire day exploring this neighborhood: monuments (Jerónimos Monastery, Belém Tower, Monument to the Discoveries), museums (Coach Museum, Centro Cultural de Belém) and breathtaking views of the Tagus river will make your visit worth your time. Belém also offers a variety of restaurants and cafes, namely the famous - and delicious - "Pastéis de Belém" (typical Portuguese custard tarts; make sure you buy an extra box of those!). Easily accessible from Lisbon's historic center, Belém is a must-do, especially if you're spending more than one day visiting the Portuguese capital.
