I would not recommend it for Fado The singer stayed 10 to 15 minutes The food is correct but expensive The service is long Finally choose somewhere else to hear Fado and eat good food with correct price.

Although pricey, the place has a great atmosphere. All the food was delicious, the waitress was very sweet and Fado music - fantastic. Would gladly return for another visit!

A restaurant, where you can experience Fado without the preset menu at a steep price and instead pick from a variety of tapas like choices and enjoy the performing musicians for a very modest 4 Euro supplement per person. The food and wine were definitely...More

We went here twice during our Lisbon trip it was that great! Loved sitting in the bar area listening to the beautiful, nightly Fado music. The food was great and service was better than most restaurants in the area. Try the cod with chickpeas &...More

We went to this place to have dinner and hear some fado music. Food was below average for Lisbon, but we wasn't expecting anything special anyway because we went primarly for fado. Fado singer was great, sung 3 sets of 2-3 song, so it wasn't...More

A nice evening. Fado music good - there was a lot of ‘shhh’ going on from staff to try and stop people talking during the music. That in itself is also distracting - maybe a good idea to put a sign on the tables as...More

We arrived at the restaurant 5 minutes before our confirmed reservation, having walked over a mile with two young children to get there on time. Upon arriving we were told there was "no room, not even at the bar" in spite of our confirmed reservation....More

We just had a wonderful evening at Povo. As others have suggested, the Fado was excellent. Both the guitarists and the singer were unusually good. Telma Pereira was the best we heard during a 10 day trip to Lisbon: young, but beautiful voice and conveyed...More

Povo is an intimate Fado venue serving tapas. The service is great, the tapas are good, and the music is exceptional. Reservations are recommended.

Delicious food, decent prices, outdoor seating, live music, welcoming and friendly waitstaff. We ordered the bacon herb potatoes, garlic shrimp, ribs, pork cheek croquettes and cocktails. All food and drinks were great. Relaxed atmosphere, very enjoyable. I would love to go back!

No, there is no entrance fee and as far as I could tell no minimum spend. They do add something like 3 or 4 euros to your bill which goes to the musicians. This seemed very reasonable to us. Prices for drinks and food were... More

O Povo is a restaurant/bar that revives the concept of the portuguese "tasca" while adapting it to the urban context of the city. The simplicity of the portuguese traditional food is combined with a variety of cultural activities based on the word, such as Fado and Poetry sessions.
