Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This restaurant was recommended as being able to accommodate the gluten-free needs of celiacs. My wife and I visited in September and were very happy it was recommended to us. The restaurant has a very nice and unique ambiance and can get quite busy. As...there was a lineup before it opened, we were lucky to get a table with a view of the city below us. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her piri piri chicken which was accompanied by yummy shoestring fries (yes, they did say it’s a safe fryer!). I had the black pork abanicos and I too was not disappointed. We would have liked to linger and enjoy the restaurant’s unique mood but needed to get up early to travel on to Lagos. ☹😊More

We really enjoyed our meal, and the location is amazing. Panoramic views of Lisbon, and it’s above the coolest part of the Alfama you could imagine. Take the uphill walk to get there - feels all the sweeter when you get there.

From the reservation process (automatic reply, instant confirmation, and sms confirmation on the day of eating), the experience here was top quailty. We ate in the evening at 7pm. Evening bookings are for the ‘Panoramico’ restaurant only, which is up a spiral staircase. Being here...for an early sitting allowed us to get first pick of seats by the window, but rest assured the whole room is very cosy and pleasant. You don’t absolutely need a window seat to enjoy your evening (even if the views are great and everyone raves about them). The service was excellent with knowledgeable staff explaining the dishes of the day and helping with wine selections. The food was creative, very tasty and perfectly prepared. Special mention for a starter of sea bass ceviche and a main of stewed beef cheek. We were there in March but I’m guessing that in the summer months the windows must be opened and then you have an alfresco experience on the rooftops of Lisbon. But whenever you go you will not regret your choice. Make sure to book though! Thanks to the team for a wonderful evening.More

A great restaurant with wonderful food! Booked for dinner, opened at 7pm. You can only book the top part of the restaurant with the views. You go through a gift shop to get to it. We had scallops & prawns to start, beef cheek &...tuna steak, and then the chocolate melt in the middle pudding and rice pudding, all of it was exquisite! Could not recommend the tuna steak enough. Had the rice pudding from another tripadvisor recommendation and it was fantastic. The staff were so friendly and chatty, no pretence, just comfortable. The view at night was lovely, overall, I think my favourite restaurant I visited in Lisbon.More

We had a great dinner here. The view is amazing as is the service. We both had the Guinea Fowl, juicy and very delicious. The prawns as an appetizer was incredible.

Chapito has amazing views over Lisbon and the river. Service is fantastic and menu is small but sufficient. We had beef cheeks and they were very delicious, although served a bit cold and portions to the small side. Guinea fowl was fine but nothing special,...the prok carre was very undercooked but the garnish was good. We tried all three deserts and they were marvelous. Recommended.More

We have visited this restaurant every time we have been to Lisbon, having found it by accident on our first trip. I think this was visit #5. The food and service were as excellent as ever and the views at night are wonderful from the...panoramic dining area. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting some authentic Portuguese food and wine at a decent price, all in a lovely setting.More

On first impressions the setting was lovely. Quaint and friendly, lots of tables of various sizes. We were seated upstairs, a tight winding stair not for the feint hearted. The restaurant was busy but not full. We waited for around 20-25 minutes to place any...order not just drinks. We were served by a lovely man who was very helpful. Placed our order and then again waited for our drinks (10-15mins) Once the drinks arrived it was my wife’s drink first, then 5-10 after that mine arrived. Food was with us 5 minutes after that. Food was lovely to be fair but very limited in choice and don’t expect any side dishes or vegetables. When we asked for the bill this took and absolute age also. All in all not the best but can see why others may like it.More

It would be hard to beat this restaurant for breathtaking views over Lisbon particularly the 25 de Abril Bridge. It is well hidden away and the panoramic restaurant is accessed via a gift shop then a spiral staircase. Reservations are essential.

Great view in a lovely atmosphere with excellent service. Food was very good. Definitely get reservations. Hubby had the grilled anchovies and the pork. I had short rib. His courses were excellent. Mine was ok. A little pricey but you pay for the view.

We had a wonderful dinner this week at Chapitô à Mesa marking our departure from a one-week visit to Lisbon. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the place is so picturesque, vibrant, and comfortable, with an incredible view of the city. We...had the preguinho (steak sandwich), the sea bass, which was cooked to perfection, and the softest, tastiest octopus we’ve ever eaten. The chocolate mousse and cheesecake were to die for! Our waiter Yussef was extremely nice and Prompt and Mara was a delightful and attentive host who checked in often to make sure we had everything we needed, and we did! We will be back and would recommend this place to everyone who visits Lisboa. Obrigado!More

Recommended by our hotel this restaurant is part of a circus training school. Unfortunately we did it see any of the shows they put on on many occasions but the view from the restaurant over the city is well worthwhile. The food was good possibly...a bit too much oil for our taste but the flavours were excellent. Service was extremely good and our waitress, Kenya, was really helpful with selecting the wine And generally. Not the best meal but great surroundings and viewsMore

A stunning hidden gem in Lisbon. The food and drinks were fantastic and the servers were wonderful. It felt like we were in a secret restaurant at the top of the city with gorgeous views and the perfect spot to watch the sunset. I have...recommended this place to everyone I know, but I also want to keep it my own little secret. Top tip; check out their bar after you’ve eaten - it was full of locals and the band playing were so fun.More

We ate sea food and do not know if they offer vegan options on their menu. Best to ask the restaurant directly. The staff that we met spoke good english.
