We took tram 28 from Alfama/ Castelo San Jorge to Bairro Alto and we had breakfast in this original , old and typical cafe- restaurant. They serve superb coffee, sandwhiches and sweet snacks in an authentic, crowdy bar. There s a newdpaper kiosque at the...More

Brasileiro is whatever mood you are in and whatever weather`s around you a must when being in Lisbon. Sitting next to the great poet-P amongst tons of tourists is cool enough, but I do wonder if the highness is a bit tired now, too much...More

If you like Pessoa, this very crowded place, with its old atmosphere, might be your thing. The food is average and the service a bit impersonal but this is probably because the place attracts so many tourists. Maybe earlier in the day it would have...More

This is a reasonable place when it's not so crowded. Late in the day, it's impossible to visit it. The second time I went there, around 4PM, I had to beg them to take my order. Then I had to beg them for my bill....More

It's a really nice old coffeehouse. Established in 1905. The interior design pushes you back in time. The coffee is brilliant.

This is a little haven of peace in a bust area. Turn of the century fixtures and lovely cakes and pastries. Good beer too. However, the service lets it down. We had three different waiters ask what we wanted, yet none of them managed to...More

If visiting Lisbon you have to pay a visit to this famous coffee shop. All places we took coffee in Lisbon was excellent, but visiting Lisbon and not stopping here? Take 10 minutes from your time...

My standards for service are quite low to start with since I am used to grumpy waiters in my hometown (Vienna), but I have never had to wait that long. We got the menu after 45 minutes (not exaggerating) and 3 reminders and got our...More
