I'm confused. We were seated at an outside table for an early dinner by a hostess wearing a shirt with the name "Ver Lisboa." The front cover of the menus provided was also labeled "Ver Lisboa". But when we got our bill, the name on the receipt was Torre Pizza. Nowhere did I see the name Torre Pizza anywhere else,... More

We visited Torre Pizza (quite a bad name for the place that serves excellent local food, on top of pizzas) just after our visit to Belem tower. We were welcomed but a very friendly and forthcoming waitress who quickly explained what is on the menu that day. We decided to go for Picanha (Brasilian steak) and cod cakes (Pataniscas de... More

We had to wait over an hour to get what we ordered. Some people arrived 30 mins after us and were served immediately. The waiter was unpleasant and the meat was overcooked. And we had to wait 10 mins to get a missing knife. Avoid this place.

The variety of menus is not the best. If you go for a pizza or a tagliatelle, it can be a good solution, but if you wish a typical Portuguese dish this is not the best restaurant in Belem.

This place was empty when we arrived. We sat outside and ordered from a waitress who promptly brought us our starter. We had ordered a local soup. It was okay. My husband ordered a pizza and I ordered the bass. His pizza was on a good base but lacking in toppings and was the most expensive pizza we seen in... More

Friendly staff for sure. Nice location near some popular tourist sites. Food and house wine were average or maybe even below. Prices were ok but a bit more expensive then other parts of Lisbon.

Great food, wonderful service from genuine staff at central location in Belem. Great value to money. We always call in to this part of Lisbon when coming from the south of Portugal on route to the airport - good parking nearby.

pros : - nice staff - optimal waiting time - tasty food - nice localisation ( near poplar monuments) - not very expensive cons : - we got small amount of shrimps in our pasta - although they were very tasty - wobbling tables outdoor

Staying in Belem

Neighbourhood Profile
Belém is the "capital of the Portuguese Discoveries" and a photographer's paradise. You can spend an entire day exploring this neighborhood: monuments (Jerónimos Monastery, Belém Tower, Monument to the Discoveries), museums (Coach Museum, Centro Cultural de Belém) and breathtaking views of the Tagus river will make your visit worth your time. Belém also offers a variety of restaurants and cafes, namely the famous - and delicious - "Pastéis de Belém" (typical Portuguese custard tarts; make sure you buy an extra box of those!). Easily accessible from Lisbon's historic center, Belém is a must-do, especially if you're spending more than one day visiting the Portuguese capital.
