It wasn't easy finding this place (as everyone has noted). Even armed with a picture of the actual door we should be looking for, it wasn't easy because of the cramped and awkward angles of the buildings in Lisbon. We stumbled into a nearby hotel...More

This was a tip from our tour guide, Sofia I of Wild Walkers. It is indeed hidden and quite hard to find. There are no signs! Just check Google Maps. It is located in the upper level of the building. It is canteen food so...More

The canteen is very hard to find, but worth the visit. Plain food that serves a good purpose. Extremely cheap and the view is amazing.

As a family of 4 we wanted to move away from the well trodden tourist restaurants and Cantina das Freiras is certainly that. We didn’t go for the food, which was fine, or the view from the roof which is great, but to appreciate different...More

This lovely unpretentious “Mensa” is run by a religious order serving decent but quite basic food. It is on the top floor of an anonymous looking building and the real attraction is the stunning rooftop terrace with panoramic views down to the sea. There are...More

Cantina das Freiras is hard to find (on the top floor of an unsuspecting building with no signage), so it's nice that everyone there is looking for something a little different. Whilst the views were amazing, the food did not match. We had gazpacho, meat...More

Good food, both taste and value, in the heart of Lisbon, with a fantastic rooftop view. We had a starter (to share), 2 mains and 2 dessert for 14.5 euros!
