Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fabulous octopus, tender and flavourful, excellent tomatoes and peppers to accompany it. Fast service, very reasonably priced.

We had fish with chips. It was delicious but it took awhile to cook. Time Out Market is definitely a tourist trap, food was on the pricey side, and since it's a food court, it's difficult to get a table, but still worth to visit.

We sat at “the bar”, gracefullt greeted and welcomed by one of the waiters/ servers. He recommended a wonderful bottle of wine. We ordered the sardines appetizer to share which was good, but the best was definitely the cod fish!! Delicious!! My husband ordered the...octopus and also enjoyed it very much. Great service and great typical portuguese food!!More

Quick service and polite staff but the food is not fresh and not well cooked. I ordered a dish with braised tuna. The fries seemed old and were undercooked enough. The tuna does not taste fresh. It was difficult to find a place to sit...in the eating area. Also, people often left their empty glasses on tables.More

We visited the Time Out market for dinner during COVID-19 and sat at the bar around the restaurant, which meant we could see our food being made! We ordered black slow roasted pork and razor clam risotto, costing less than 25 euros altogether. They arrived...within 15 minutes are were both delicious. It is a good place to go for some atmosphere and excellent value. Having read other reviews on here we weren't sure what to expect, however we were pleasantly surprised with a lovely waitress and good COVID measures in place. Whilst we didn't have to wait long for food, we were the only people there so I can imagine on a busier day you would have to wait longer (we visited another stall on a subsequent day and had to wait over 40mins for some food). I'd definitely recommend coming for a "proper meal" rather than trying bits and bobs from a variety of places.More

First thing you arrived at this Time Out Market is look for a place to sit. Usually you have to share a table. We ordered cod fish from this restaurant and it tasted good. After we ordered it took about 10 minutes when the pager...beeps to pick up the dish.More

The tuna was one of the best meals I have ever had, anywhere. I would request it as my last meal. I want to go back to Lisbon just to eat this again.

Tuna with sweet potatoes is just perfect. Seasoning, cooking,... Small dose but gives you space for the desserts 😉

Based inside the Time Out Market. Had some really nice and simple sardines cooked really well. A little bit expensive at almost 10 Euros but was tasty.

Deep fried egg filled with cod and in coriander mayo was superb. Cod as main was also very delicious. Both had unique flavours to them that I had not tasted before.

Didn't have to wait more than 2 min for our croquettes at the Time Out market Lisbon. Super speedy service for what we ordered. Quality of food was tasty. A tad bit expensive for an appetizer but worth it.

We went to the Time Out market and i went to the counter of the “Kitchen of Hapiness” to order 2 times Tuna for my wife and me. I ordered “ Atum” as it is called in Portuguese. I must confess, it came out of...my mouth not quite as intended :). So the waiter had to ask me again what i meant. The waiter was already bothered with my presence and had to stop what he was doing, so an annoying foreigner who was not pronouncing “Atum” right seemed to ruin his mood. I tried a friendly laugh when I was paying, but it did not work. When I came back to get the dishes, there was octopus on the plates. So i said...oh this is not what i ordered. The waiter stated firmly: “this is what you ordered.” We spiraled in a surreal discussion on the topic what i ordered.... to conclude this i said that i was quite sure what i ordered and it was not octopus (As far as my memory goes :)) but maybe we did not understand each other correctly, which may have been caused by the irritation of the waiter. Ok, they were prepared to make the Tuna, which i was happy with. I decided to wait at the counter till it was made, instead of returnking not when the buzzer (which they give you) goes of. This startled the waiter but also me. The waiter was irritated that i did not go away. I was appalled by the hygiene discipline of the staff (please wash your hands when you slip between food and other things). Meanwhile, the waiter decided to insult me in Portuguese. “That &€@&”! does not understand the buzzer” Which i understood, the sentence I mean, the buzzer however.....quite complex :). I decided to leave the food and the 30 euro’s (quite cheap for avoiding stomach issues) and go somewere else.... When reading back on TripAdvisor this is not the first remark on these issues (staff professionality and hygiene). I am wondering what the manager of this place thinks of this? If you train your staff to leave out negative emotions towards the costumers, they have more mental room to understand what the tourists are meaning.... I must say we have had a lovely vacation in Portugal (overall the Portuguese are very friendly) with all very good experiences in restaurants. Unfortunately, this wasn’t one of them. Meanwhile i will practice on my pronouncation of “Atum”.......More

Short but wonderful gourmet menu. Portuguese cuisine with a twist! Loved it! Group of 5, tried one of each dish. Had Cod, and an amazing soup I don't even remember the name. Dessert was very creative, they meke their own ice cream and chocolate truffles.
