Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was by far our best meal in Sintra, the restaurant offers high quality food and service at a very fair price (really good for such a touristy town) We started by sharing a salad (small, however very fresh and tasty) next was the Risotto...with fish (excellent) and the lamb chops (many ribs, well cooked and tasty) Desserts were the olive oil cake (great) and the chocolate cake with ice cream (perfect) Thoroughly enjoyed the meal and highly recommend you book.More

Amazing food, great staff. We stayed in the wine gallery but had access to the full menu. Our server was so knowledgeable about wine pairings for each entree while also listening to our prefereces. He also recommended regional dishes which did not disappoint!

I give this 6 out of 5 stars. The wine list is extensive with Portuguese wines. The service was sheer perfection and the food came out hot and in s short time. We found this to be the best place we’ve eaten on our trip...to Portugal. You do need a reservation!More

Very poor service received from one of the waitresses. We intended to have a glass of wine in the gallery and then eat in the restaurant. The waitress, with a very bad attitude, indicated that we couldn't sit in the restaurant until we were ready...to eat, despite having purchased different wines in the gallery, which is owned by the same owner. It's sad to find restaurants with such high ratings having such poor waiter service. The restaurant was empty of visitors and they prefer potential customers to leave. "Conversely, the service at Wine Gallery provided by Carlos was exceptional." The waitress whit a bad attitude is the one in the picture ...More

"Even though all the outdoor tables were empty, a waitress rudely told us that we couldn't sit there to drink a wine we had bought from the neighboring place, which is a wine bar with the same name and the same owner."

A hot day walking around Sintra and then this oasis. Delicious snacks,(tapas), wonderful wines and a waiter who knows his wines. I round return here again when next in the area.

We went in after a long day of walking and were presented with one of the best meals of our lives. I had the pork, my husband had the scallops with mushroom risotto. They even comped us with ceviche which was a delightful meal start....If you are near the train station this is an excellent choice. The chef is first class!More

Our lunches (we ate there two days in a row) were very good, some of the best we had during six weeks in Portugal. The decor was a little more upscale and the atmosphere pleasant. The waiters were charming, with a great sense of humor....I would highly recommend the octopus and the steak. Even the house wine was good at a reasonable 3.5 euros per glass. Definitely need to make reservations. We saw a number of people turned away. Highly recommend!!!More

Our daughter visited this restaurant a few months ago and really enjoyed the experience. We decided to try it too and were not disappointed. The welcome was amazing and every dish we chose off the menu was delicious. Portuguese food with a twist certainly hits...the spot and we would recommend a visit. Very reasonably priced too.More

We've had great risotto in Milan, but this place had a risotto to DIE for. It was made with oxtail meat and foie grais, and had small bites of apple and -pine nuts in it. The rice was creamy and chewy (a hard act to...follow), and the pine nuts gave a pop of texture while the bits of apple gave a pop of sweetness. The jus from the oxtail was just yummy. If I could have gotten away with it, I would have licked the plate. We also had the amazing chocolate and orange mousse, which was creamy and served with a generous portion. Our second best meal in Portugal, and we ate at one two star and one one star restaurant.More

Seriously good food. We went for dinner, and then went again because there was so much we wanted to try - and the second time was even better than the first. Portions are large, so I would advise getting to the main dish without too...many preliminaries. Their wines are excellent, and good value, and the waiters are knowledgable and charming.More

We are a family of 3. For dinner we had filet of pork (good), Iberian pork ribs (underwhelming, will order something else next time). And for dessert we had the chocolate/orange mouse (winner), French toast (very good), and crème brûlée (very good). Staff made good...suggestions on wine choices.More
