Many years from our previous visits and reviews. Luckily the quality of food and good service have remained. Also there seems to be on their menu many courses, which we have mentioned earlier. This time it is easy to name our favourites: Kataifi Shrimp was...an excellent starter, filet Mignon Rossini a great main course concerning both taste and appearance and Crème brûleé of orange a wonderful dessert, but other courses were also very tasty. The service ran smoothly, though the restaurant was full. If you want to guarantee your table, you should reserve it in advance.More

2nd time we have eaten here and it is a great restaurant. Really nice setting with great staff and an excellent menu. This restaurant appears in the Michelin guide and for good reason. The dishes not only look great but they are also packed with...flavour. The price is extremely reasonable as well. 3 courses for under €50 is a bargain. If you are in Funchal then definitely give this place a try.More

Delicious food, great experience and wonderful service. The gastronomic tour tasting menu was extremely creative. The all-local matching wines were decent if not mind-blowing. Had an issue with slow service between courses but the team responded very well to the complaint, acting with true professionalism....Very good quality all round.More

Disappointing Service! Food quality can be improved! Overrated restaurant in Funchal relative to other restaurants in town.

Lovely restaurant in a former salt warehouse and the patio area leading to it. We were sad not to be able to make another reservation but the restaurant was fully booked. Great varied menu with good value wine accompaniments if selected. All staff were excellent....The fish dishes were particularly well received by our group. Fantastic turbot with risotto and pan fried seabass. Lovely home made sweet potato bread and garlic butter. Exciting desserts too. A lot of local produce used to make exciting delicious dishes.More

Having read a number of previous reviews it comes as a surprise the hated waiter wasn’t more forthcoming with the delay we experienced here. On arrival our table wasn’t ready a shame but not the end of the world. We were shown to our table...and orders for drinks taken quickly. Our food order was taken bread delivered and amuse bouche presented, on odd mixture of couscous and mixed vegetables but it certainly didn’t stimulate our palate. We then waited the best part of an hour for our starter, simply not acceptable. Staff rushing about filling glasses but where was the food. Main took slightly less time so the evening dragged on far too long. Wine requested was substituted without comment so what should have been a delightful experience turned out to be a long drawn out trauma. For goodness sake get a grip on order processing in the kitchen and keep waiting times to a minimum.More

Atmosphere, food, staff and service were all excellent. Couldn't fault anything. We chose a table outside under a covered passageway which worked well on a warm evening.

We chose the chef's menu, the Gastronomic Tour, an eight-course meal at 70 euros per person excluding drinks. The starter was a celebration of trout, which was a fatty letdown of semi-Japanese fusion. The fish soup lacked seasoning. The best dish was the parrotfish with...Madeira couscous only because it was well seasoned. Then came the piglet hummus - the piglet was succulent, but the so-called hummus was a puree of chickpeas that resembled and tasted nothing close to hummus. The delectable surprise was the delectable desert - Santana's Lemon Cream, which made me forget, albeit momentarily, the previous courses.More
