We ordered the taste the wine with your dishes from the menu. Honestly? It was a fantastic experience. Food was supreme....I majored on fish dishes and the selected wine only heightened the flavours. Won't bore with excellent service and knowledge of the staff. Well done chef and all the staff. Strong five stars from me.

Booked as hadn't been able to get in previously and expected great things from the other reviews. Asked to sit inside and told not available although other customers were asked their preference on arrival. Put close to the guitarist who performed well but mainly for the single lady customer next to us who proceeded to sing and hum along to... More

Enjoyed a lovely dinner here, taking the menu deal with accompanied wines. Real fine dining quality of food and wines, nicely served by friendly attentive staff. Only downsides were we were seated 'outside' on a decking arrangement, which was not ideal (the floor vibrated when folk walked by and the temperature became a bit cold later) and the interior seating... We were just walking past a small side 'alley' when a few bars of acoustic guitar and a soulful voice caressing an unusual version of Stairway to Heaven stopped us in our tracks. The alley was partially covered and several tables set outside in a very pretty setting with a guitarist sat at the end of the alley providing some... More

One of the best places to eat in Funchal. Nice service and really Nice food & wine. It is a bit more pricey bit worth it.

A delightful and classy restaurant. Made to feel welcome with attentive staff, excellent service and great food. Even my fussy spouse had nothing but praise. Wine choices were good value

We turned up on a cool evening, after being unable to get in elsewhere. The place was busy but not full. We were seated in a covered alley. We had to keep our jackets on. The staff all seemed to be busy without doing anything in particular. They were all young and needed some direction. The food when it arrived was... More

On a recent visit to Madeira we dined here 3 times and were never disappointed. The food, service and wine pairings were excellent and at 84 Euros for two people extremely good value for the quality on offer. The service, entertainment and ambience were first class and the furnishings, which had been updated since our last visit in March had... More

Otherwise known as the 'Salt Cellars' to Brits - this is a fantastic experience. Different wines with every beautifully cooked and presented course. A real treat. The service was attentive and excellent without being fussy. Dining with friends was superb - well worth the little bit extra on the budget. Enjoy!

Had such a good meal, friendly staff, interesting food, lovely wines, we went back two days later. We had been about 18 months before and it was as good as we remembered.
