The place was filled with locals, which is always a good sign. We got a table for 3 immediately nevertheless. Daily specials were only in Portuguese in the menu, but were explained well by the staff. Food arrived very quickly. It was also very good, and excellent value for the money.

Maybe good value for money but, personally, we would have liked some a little more sophisticated food. Osso bucco was the dish of the day and looking at the number of workers coming here for their lunch, it certainly looked tasty and the portions of vegetables looked generous. Unfortunately, we were not told about the dish of the day and... More

Opposite the western side of the market and down a flight of steps. Many staff here to help. Dish of the day good value and enough on the plate to satisfy. Some interesting local dishes and drinks to try. Popular with the local clientele but tourists made welcome by the multilingual staff. Do not miss.

Wanted to try an affordable, local food! Staff were very friendly! Food was delicious I had fish with banana (recommended by our local guide in one of the trips). Highly recommended 🙂

Restaurant is definitely worth of going. The food was really good. Only thing to complain was a little too much noise.

I visited this place after reading the reviews. As a woman travelling alone, it was really nice to be made to feel so welcome. The atmosphere was lovely, and the staff were super friendly. The food was really fresh and couldn't have been better. It's not haute cuisine, but it's great value for money and I really enjoyed the experience.

The restaurant was constantly full during the evening we were there, as a table became available it was quickly taken. It was Very lively the night we were there as there were 2 large groups (tables with 20 people), but this made for a very lively atmosphere and it did not affect the service of the other tables at all.... Three of us visited and we're made very welcome Aperitifs of madeira followed by excellent garlic bread local white wine a casa. Mains were tuna, fish skewers (all excellent) and tuna salad ( very sadly made with tinned tuna) Vegetables included baby marrows nice. Service attentive and quick Cost c €43 so very cheap.
