Excellent vegetarian meal with beautiful presentation

This small vegetarian restaurant near the gate to the historic district serves high quality food at affordable prices. My husband and I both opted for eggplant Parmesan, Portuguese style. It came with a lovely assortment of pickled salads: cauliflower, carrots, and beets as well as arugula and tomatoes - plus a choice of brown or basmati rice. Angelica was our gracious server.

Great flavorful and original

We ate vegan tonite and we each had an amazing dish. I had the tofu and my husband had the seitan and both had a yummy cream sauce. For the guy who said there was no flavor, OMG the Spicey pineapple cinnamon chutney will knock your socks off! We will be back soon!

Great location and good service. The food is just amazing, very tasty!! It's a vegetarian restaurant with lots of options and good prices. I truly recommend it!

Lacking in spirit, well below expectations

Soup OK, not hot Bread with soft cheese OK where did the mini bread sticks come from? Mango salad, really poor, drowned in low quality balsamic vinegar. How difficult can a good soup and salad be? There must be better vegan restaurants.

Tasty lunch

This smart veggie restaurant is in a good location between the town gate and the cathedral. The menu had a good variety of choices. We both found our food delicious with an excellent selection of vegetables and salad. Prompt and friendly service, reasonable prices.

Vegan Options Were Excellent

We stopped in during Holy Week/Easter Week and we’re seated right away, even though it was a busy night (right before a procession). The restaurant was clean and minimally, tastefully decorated—comfortable, casual, and welcoming. The waitress knew limited English, but was friendly and helpful and brought over an English speaking man (perhaps the manager or owner). He was adorable, funny, and kind...and was quick to point out the vegan-only options that we inquired about. While most of the vegan meals were clearly marked as such, it never hurts to ask if there any others, which lead us to the soup (which wasn’t originally marked vegan). The soup was very, very good—a creamy squash, I presume—which is not something I often praise because it’s typically pretty basic, but this was tasty. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. For our mains, my man had a stroganoff (seitan) dish and I had a tofu dish, both over a rice of our choosing and, while they were similarly flavored, his was creamier (and topped with tiny, fried potato slivers) and mine had maybe a bit more complexity (and mushroom caps and tomato cubes). It’s hard to say which was better—both were excellent—and we traded often. The sides varied between the two plates and all of them were good. A vegan/vegetarian/meat eater would enjoy either of the dishes we had, without question, and we’d go again if we had another night in town. Lovely place, good service, and excellent food!

Tasty food and located in a very good place in Braga. I think the price could be a little more average within the rest of the veggie restaurants in Braga but since it's so well located, it's okay.

Another wonderful meal

One of my very favourite restaurants. Food, ambience and service are all excellent. The only thing that stops us giving 5 stars is the smelly toilets. Otherwise a great place and highly recommended.

Enjoyable meal

A good variety of food available on the menu and lots of different flavours on the plate. Good sized portions. A good number of desserts to choose from as well. It would have been helpful to have an English menu - while I was there I saw 4 different tables of English speakers, all using translation apps to figure out the menu.

A good meal

Being the eldest vegetarian restaurant in Braga, it's definitely one to be tried. They offer a limited menu, so you really can´t really be very fussy and picky, either the vegetarian and vegan options are very satisfying, food is good, but far from excellence, though quite good, leaves no lasting memories, and for some reason, feels a bit like canteen type, the vegan desert is just simply OK . There is an herbal tea pot, delivered on the table without need to be requested for, included on the menu price. Eating all fresco in this particular spot, is by itself an experience, the tables outside tend to get all full, quite fast, if the weather allows it, so some latecomers depart without even having the option of eating, I suppose either there is no food left, or they are quite strict about closing time. The staff is mainly polite, but don´t expect a very warm welcome, I would even say, sometimes on the verge of rudeness. The decoration is absolutely plain and quite minimal, however there this amazing bathroom, yes, the bathroom is something one definitely must see, if you are into this kind of things, of course, it has absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the decor. Overall, you can have a good meal and experience.

I come here regularly because the food is simply divine! And I can’t get over the deserts!... If you’re not a vegetarian that won’t be a problem, because you won’t feel the difference! So, if you happen to be around Braga, Anjo Verde is really a must!

In a country of meat and fish, this is a full of freshness for vegetarians. I had fejoado and enjoyed it; my kids ate all the greens with the house spice... (Limited English among the staff but that hardly a problem)

Wonderful food

A nice place to eat wonderful food. It’s vegetarian, but that’s only a specification, not an issue for an exquisite taste. Beans – very good; gomes de sá – marvellous, but not with codfish (but one of the best I tasted) Eggplant – well, you can fill the different tastes of the cheese, of the mixture, of eggplant. I had a chocolate cake with peppers: wonderful, with a long aftertaste.
