Camafeu is sublime. We were fortunate to get a table for 5 on a Friday night without a reservation, and were simply blown away by the experience. The food was absolutely exceptional, from the rich salad starter (possibly the best salad I've ever had) to the main course of incredibly tender beef with Pecorino sauce (four of us had it... More

We could just copy a lot of elements frmo earlier reviews. If you want to spend a very nice evening in a 'feel home atmosphere' and if you like high quality food and a good choice of wine, you have have to book a table in Camafeu. Fantastic!

Food was exceptionally good. Kind waiter, good service. Prices are not as low as you may be used to in Porto but quality is much greater than average. Be sure to make reservations!

The restaurant has a good atmosphere and the decoration is interesting. The food is OK, but for what you pay should be better. The overall experience is average.

We decided to eat here based on Tripadvisor reviews, and we're glad we did. The dishes were all well conceived and carefully prepared. The dessert sampling plate with tawny port was especially good. Attentive and helpful service. Reservations are essential.

A lovely restaurant with great food and few tables - fairly quiet and calm. Only two members of staff (one of which managed to keep smiling despite suffering with a cold!) and turning away would-be customers showed us it's important to book. We went mid-week (Wednesday) and booked the week before. It was recommended by our guest house via e-mail.... More

Ate here whilst on a long weekend on the Douro and I am so pleased that we sought it out. Found it on TripAdvisor and managed to message them on FB to get a table. After a fairly lengthy walk from Gaia, guided by Google Maps, we came into a small square and google confidently told us the restaurant was... More

The service, the food, the atmosphere and the experience all culminate into a great night. Could not fault the restaurant.

Thank goodness we booked this for our first night in Porto as the weekends are very popular at the restaurant so make sure you book in advance! A lovely small setting of an old apartment it's very romantic and the service is superb. The menu is small but everything we tasted was outstanding, my favourite being the cheeks. This restaurant... Such a beautiful little restaurant, staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, even as we were running nearly 30 minutes late! Everything we had was delicious and wine recommendations were superb. For Porto it was an expensive meal but by Australian standards this was a 5-star meal for average prices. Highly recommended to anyone traveling to Porto - do make a... More

On the first floor of a historical site in Porto's downtown, recently opened a small quiet restaurant, called Camafeu. Go back to the times where you had a meal at your grandparent's place, where the decor was romantic but eclectic and where you can indulge yourself on mouth-watering but not-pretentious food.At dinner time, you are invited to stay for a late drink and enjoy, through the big windows, the scenery of the square bellow (Praca Carlos Alberto, named after our late King). We invite you to try the tender Sirloin steak or the Duck with figg jam, or the Prawn porridge among other fabulous appetizers and main-courses. Everybody will love our home-made desserts. Don't forget to ask for the famous Portuguese wine from the Douro region, either it's Port, White or Red.
