This is a cultural association that uses this space to promote cultural activities, show movies, play concerts and spread the word of veganism.. and they cook food as well, but i wouldn't define it as a restaurant, and neither do they. The place has spider...More

A nice place to go to eat good vegan food. At lunch time, we paid 4 euros for a vegetable soup, a sandwich with seitan, and a drink. The big wooden entrance door gives a good idea of what you'll find inside!

We came here for lunch, as the rain was pouring outside, and that was just perfect ! We arrived in a kind of big cellar (no windows), with some reggae playing. The home made menu is 4€, we had a very nice zucchini soup, a...More

It would benefit from better light, air renovation, some serious cleaning and some sort of standard waitering. Nice food, china and silver would also help... so, definitely not a restaurant I would recommend. Some of my friends like it and, yes, you may meet nice...More

This is the kitchen from a vegan/vegetarian collective. It's exactly what it sounds like. If it's your scene you'll feel right at home, if not then steer clear, you'll find plenty of mainstream restaurants a stone's throw away. If you need any convincing that this...More

The lunch menu was perfect. The place was cool and retro giving a certain charm to the place ( looked like some south of France restaurant:)). I pais like 6 euro for soup, main dish and a drink. It's an Association so it's not like a...More

What you see is what you get. The place is sort of dirty and very liberal so to say. You can't expect any stable quality of the food, as there is no real stable menu. Whoever feels like cooking is cooking. Okay, that is great...More

I went to this restaurant with a friend when we visited Porto. It was a bit difficult to find at first, but it's located in a great little cellar. A lot of veggie and vegan options and everything was really tasty and not expensive. Very...More

Dont be scared by the kinda rough look on the outside. Yes, it doesnt look fancy, but way too many restaurants in Porto do and most of them arent special. This one is. It is cosy and homely and the food is awesome. A lot...More

This is a little hidden, down from the real street. For us as a young couple (both students) this was a wonderful place! They offered the menu from the day for 8 euros, including soup main course and dessert. Or the regular menu, slightly cheaper...More

Description
Casa Da Horta is a cultural and environmental association, based on local action with a horizontal decision making structure. It aims to search and create alternative ways of living questioning the existing layers of culture, habits, lifestyles and political state. In our kitchen where is no chefs, waiters or cooks, we prepare mostly local vegan or vegetarian dishes, as a response to the exploitation of animals, humans and environment in food production around the world. We get vegetables from local farmers - Raizes, Agitadoras de Alquimias project and family farmers Joaquim and Rosa Lima and Sr. Alexandre. Fernando Paiva brings us home made apple, elderberry or grape juices. You can also drink the artesanal beer "Sovina" from local producers in Porto and we have coffee from Zapatistas! We serve lunches and dinners from Tuesday to Saturday. On Fridays we do Francesinha Vegetariana - typical Porto dish, made using sheep cheese from Tras os Montes small farm. Saturday is dedicated to special menu (various cuisines from around the world, regions, or some other theme. On Wednesdays we have movies and other activities you can check in our calendar.
