In times of a pandemic I could not fault this place! Great food, atmosphere, people, and a great place overall! I would just say if you want to eat at a reasonable time BOOK IN ADVANCE!!!! We made the mistake to book a day before going and ended up not having a table until 21:30!
Social distancing and masks were used to get into the restaurant all waiters were wearing them, the place mats were placed on our tables by the waiters using tongs so that no one else had touched the mats and table but ourselves. Tables were a good enough distance so that you were not uncomfortable with people sitting close to you.
Our waiter Anderson was super helpful and friendly!
A typical traditional Portuguese cuisine which you can get in a lot of places around Porto, but in terms of quality and price this definitely beat all of the other places!! We had the francesinha and it was exceptional!
After all the amazing food consumed we would advise you visit the city by foot, to burn all of the amazing food consumed!

A great restaurant and a great experience overall!
The food is delicious and very well served and the decoration and general environment are very cosy and comfortable.
All the waiters, no exception (really), were extremely nice to us, always with a smile on their faces and ready to help. That is truly a core aspect of a restaurant service and it's really nice to see such a good group of professionals.
A must go when in Porto!

We called in to reserve for a family of three, arrived 10 minutes earlier n waited outside, the host after 5 minutes has had the care of coming outside politely asked us if we had a reservation,(even if we hadn't, we would definitely want to go in, just for the first impression he passed to us). He directs us to our table and another very polite employee that is to be our server named Anderson came to introduce himself with a magnificent attitude! I guess when this happens, it means that we were going to have a great night!! We chose our food, FRANCESINHA obviously, He asked if could bring the couvert and was very careful to explain the specialty, we were convinced, and loved the pickled caperberries together with olives(I guess Galega) and the crispy rice leaves served with a discrete, hot mayonnaise bade deep sauce😉 Moving on... We didn't have alcohol due to the previous night moderated yet, guzzle 😆 FRANCSINHAS were ready served with another great good vibe employee and unexpected extra sauce, yessss! Unbelievable good housemade french fries🤩 I just want to thank u all for the great service, also the very kind waitress for the refills and the care to keep all very clean n sanitized, a very trustworthy place to eat from. What a great experience 😍 A big yes to repeat to be able to try their sangria that looked so good from the spotless bar!

Clearly one of the go to places in Porto, lively and busy with a great atmosphere. We had to wait 10 minutes for a table, but given that we hadn't booked we were lucky. The steak sandwiches were perfectly cooked, melt in the mouth and really tasty. We should have realised living in France that chips meant crisps which was a bit disappointing, but otherwise the food was good. We ordered the Artisanal IPA which sadly came in a ceramic mug, we prefer glasses, and as it turned out wasn't disappointingly un-IPA like, it wasn't IPA it was Super Bock lager. We didn't find out until the bill arrived by which time it was too late.

The one restaurant we noticed that always had queues outside so pre book!
We ordered the mixed grill for 2 and the goats cheese salad. The meal was delicious and the waitress was excellent.
Not a massive menu but we could see that all the dishes are prepared a very high standard & reasonably priced.
Highly recommended!

Great restaurant with reasonable pricing. For two Francesinha, 1/2 portion of chips and 2 zero cokes we paid 26 euros. Waiter was very attentive and food was great. Remember you can ask for spicy sauce with your sandwich :) Would recommend.

We looked for a good dinner place and were wise to reserve a table, otherwise no chance for dinner there. A very small but also very effecient restaurant where it is a must, to go for the famous „francheshina“. The very welcoming waitress explained us, that the half portion still would eat one ˋs fill. They have there own good beer which is served in a stein. Thumbs up for the top team from service and kitchen - do not forget to reserve a table.

Went here based on the reviews and recommendation from our host and I can say the food is really good, though a bit pricier than others. It's highly advisable to get a reservation, but be prepared to wait even if you have one.
We waited about an hour and a half for our table (without reservation) on a Sunday night, got seated, then promptly served.
Ordered the "Cebola Frita" which is similar to the "Blooming Onion" at Outback steakhouse, but much better. It's served with some good sauces on the side.
For mains, we ordered the Bife com pickles, bife de Cebolada, and Costelinha Vinha (pork dish). Out of all 3 of them, I would have to say the Bife com pickles was the best. It had a delicious sauce that complemented the dish. The others were also pretty good, cooked to perfection and not too rough. All dishes were served with chips.
The beer and wine selection is good too with local options. Wait staff was very friendly and spoke good English. Overall, great first meal to start off Porto.

My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant yesterday, and the whole experience was okay. It began very well when the waitress got us a table, even though we didn't have a reservation and the restaurant was full. The appetizers were very good, especially the bread, which was delicious. We didn't like the way the beer was served. It came in a cup made of clay rather the usual glass. The beer didn't taste very well, and being the one we usually drink, we think it was because of the cup.
We didn't have to wait much longer until we got our order, but the food was nothing special. We usually go to Brasão Cervejaria Coliseu Restaurant, but yesterday the restaurant in Aliados was closer to where we were. The beef was burnt and very small for the size of the francesinha; the sauce was just okay, and the bread was clearly not fresh.
This was probably our second time at this restaurant, and I remember leaving the restaurant with the same feeling. Despite belonging to the same owner, we think the Brasão Cervejaria Coliseu Restaurant's food is much better there.

Francesinha everywhere. This place is the Temple of francesinha and beers.
They serve also vegetarian francesinha, finally also vegetarian can enjoy it.

We stumbled upon this one night while trying to find a place to eat and were told we had to make a reservation. The line to get inside was crazy long so I made our reservation for the following night at 9pm (that's the earliest I could get).
When we went the following night, we found out why the line was so long. The food is amazing and they serve REAL sized steaks, not the skinny little things you get in most tascas.
My husband and I had the truffle/cheese empanadas to start, filet mignons (Portuguese & Onion) with a very delicious salad and full plate of fries. To finish, we had the MUST HAVE lemon meringue dessert. Everything was delicious from start to finish and the staff was on point.
If you're going to Porto, make your reservation now.

In a sunny Monday and on vacation in Porto, we try a typical local one called Francesinha. We were very pleased with the size and flavor of food, which was completed with the pleasant climate and rustic decor of the place.
We were served by a guy called Anderson who is an excellent waiter and despite the large number of people, made us feel unique in the restaurant. A place to stop by when in the town.

Came here for lunch directly after arriving in Porto our first day. We didn't have a reservation, and there was a line, but Raquel managed to squeeze us in before the 3pm close. We had a mushroom and asparagus saute to die for. My wife ordered red sangria, which came out in a vessel the size of her head. They are highly rated for the infamous Francesinha, and they did not disappoint. ONE is more then enough to share. Ana was extremely helpful navigating the menu. Best start ever to a wonderful trip to Porto.

A real necessity to visit when in Porto. The service is a-class and the food was delicious (not only the Francesinha, but also the stuffed eggplant for the non-craving visitors). The specially brewed IPA is great and Ronaldo was the happiest waiter ever. An exemplary place!

Based upon research and advice from our private tour guide, we were looking for the best Francesinha in Porto. We made reservations for when they opened at 7pm 2 days prior and were immediately seated. Long line of customers forming before they open, so highly recommend you make reservations although they do accommodate walk-ins but cannot guarantee availability.
I ordered the 1/2 order of Francesinha with 1/2 order of fries and my wife had the goat cheese salad. Both dishes were absolutely fantastic and the portions were plentiful. 2 people could easily share a full order of Francesinha. From what I understand, its the flavoring of the tomato/beer based sauce that separates restaurants from each other. Had just the right amount of spice and the melted cheese really brought home the flavor. My wife only had a few bites of my dish and I finished the rest. Was nice and full without being over stuffed.
The food was outstanding and the service was even better! Our waitress Miriam was very friendly and really took care of us. Since it's our 1st time in Portugal, she explained the menu items and gave us great advice. The restaurant fills up pretty fast, yet she made sure to check on us during our meal. Miriam provided excellent customer service to us and made our meal very enjoyable. We also had the opportunity to interact wirh Samuel and he was also very courteous and friendly. He made sure we were completely satisfied and took time to explain local dining customs.
Highly recommend this restaurant. Have a great selection of appetizers, main dishes and drinks. They really provide excellent customer service from the hostess who greets you to the entire wait staff!
