This place came recommended for the Francesinha. This is basically a sandwich with different kinds of meat in it, covered in melted cheese and a gravy sauce. I ordered the portobeer which had 3 different types of meat in it, steak, ham and sausage. Mine had a few pieces of shrimp on top which tasted like they were previously frozen.... More

Several locals, guides and Uber drivers insisted that we had to have a Francesinha before leaving Porto. Portobeer was the place to do this. This diabolical monstrosity consists of slices of bread around layers of ham, steak, chicken, cheese and sausage, topped with a fried egg and smothered in spicy gravy. All served in a metal pan. It has to... More

Reading about the traditonal portuguese Francesinha I found this place and luckily it was just around the corner from our hotel so we made a stop there before the check in. Restaurant looks very "posh" in a way even though the prices arent so high, two drinks and two mains cost us just under 30 Euros. Stuff was wonderful, friendly,... More

My wife and I were walking past this restaurant and thought we would give it a try as they were offering a free Belgium beer with the francesinha main course . I enjoyed the whole experience but my wife did not and she does not even remember what she ordered. My francesinha was good and it comes with chips and... More

The stuff was very polite and they didn't have a problem to answer any questions in english regarding the menu. We tasted the famous francesinha which was delicious! I tasted it with veil and it was amazing but it was quite tasteful with other kinds of meat. We also tasted portugese beers althogh there wasn't such a variety of them.... More

We went to eat twice here while staying at the hotel next door as we all enjoyed the quality of the food, the surroundings and the service. We found the price to be reasonable.

What a disappointment! A Portuguese friend of mine had raved about Francesinha, and when we saw that this place served a vegetarian version I had to try it, as I don't eat meat. Huge mistake! It was essentially a pile of greasy soggy cheese with awful fake meats inside and floating in a salt-flavoured sauce. I pulled out all the... More

Very enthusiastic service but let down by an undercooked cold steak and a cold spaghetti bolognese, and we were eating inside next to the kitchen. Re served but still the spaghetti was cold and covered in a tablespoon of dried herbs which had to be scraped off to reach the cold pasta. Shame as both dishes were of tasty quality... More

Really good local food. We enjoyed it so much we went three times for dinner and even once for lunch. Staff were very friendly and helpful with taking our order. Made us feel very welcome. We kept going back so I reckon that says enough.
