The place has more look than quality! Good looking dinning room, friendly and clean service but ... The waiter forgets your orders (ordered fish soup, but it didn't came), the Savel fish was average, too soft (it should be crispy fried because of the many...small bones), dessert was ok but there were no typical Portuguese desserts to choose from. Good place for tourists, but too expensive for local people in view of the food options they have.More

Food at this restaurant is good. Portions are big. Friendly service. Small restaurant but in a convent location.

Although the food was very tasty and the lobster was cooked fresh, (aquarium in restaurant) the service left much to desire. Ill-humoured waiter (not sure if he was the owner); the younger female waitress made up for his grumpiness. I would love to go back...for the food but good service is really part of the whole dining out experience and with so much competition around, no need to go back. Need to be more ‘hospitable’ in hospitality industry!More

This restaurant is located in the centre of Viana and the parking spots around the location are limited. To go here, we recommend to go by foot. Reservation might be necessary when it is high season. We had a fish meal and the food was...fine, from the four places we visited in Viana, we would put this second. The venue is not offering a special design , service is fine and food is ok , not excellent. Sure a place to test when you are in Viana.More

Had the monkfish (Tamboril) rice and it was to die for! Excelent service. A little bit pricey, but on par with the rest of the restaurants at the same level.

We ate there on a regular week day. the restaurant was full (mainly tourists) as it seems to have a good reputation. We had booked a table for 8:30 so we showed up at the exact time but no one came to welcome us. As...we did not know what to do, we stayed in the middle of the room, waiters running all around but none of them came to explain the situation. We had the impression that they ignored us. Finally, after an almost 20 minutes wait (I wanted to leave but my gf insisted on staying), a waitress showed us a table. She did not offer any apology. She just gave us the menu without any word. Running a restaurant is not only offering food to customers, it is also welcoming guests and making them feel comfortable. As I was really irritated by the waiters' behaviour, we just ordered one course (roasted cod fish) which was ok but not memorable. Then the waiter brought us the bill, no smile, no question, nothing..In short, highly disappointing for a recommended restaurant.More

We have been touring around the coast of Portugal for quite sometime so we have had the chance to try out a new restaurant every night. O Pescador is not a fancy place but it is definitely a good choice for fish lovers. High quality...of the ingredients but the bill is high compared to other similar and sometimes better places.More

The restaurant was really full, so pre booking was important, and the fresh bass sea we shared was one of the best I have ever ate. Can not tell about more dishes but this was very good. See below the waiting line when we went...out.More

The locals say it all - this restaurant is always full. It won’t break the bank and the fish is delightfully fresh and totally yummy !! Book a table just in case. And don’t forget a glass of very local white wine.
