We opted for the xmas menu on this visit. Sea Bass and Roast Beef, both dishes were cooked to perfection and healthy big platefuls, The Galley manages to combine a genuine seafood menu with more basic traditional dishes too. Special mention to our waitress Arleen,...looked like she was on her own but as far as we could see nobody including us went unattended to. In fact for us she went up and above what could be reasonably expected. Well done Arleen!!! She's a credit to the Galley We will be back soon for sure and would not hesitate to recommend the Galley Colin and JeanetteMore

First visit, really good choice on Christmas menu and a reasonable price for 2 or 3 courses. Turkey dinner was lovely, plenty of food. Still managed to find a wee space for dessert, and had mars bar cheesecake, which was lovely. If I could have...managed any more food I’d have had the Christmas pudding too, as it looked amazing! Normal menu has plenty choice too. We will be back soon.More

I was so disappointed with this place after reading such good reviews. The service was extremely poor with little or no knowledge of the food or drinks. We ordered drinks and were waiting for 25 mins for then to arrive. My husband complained about the...wait time and was told they were coming and then the bar was left empty while someone else was served. This wasn't the young mans fault it was the young lady who was serving. The fish dishes were lovely however, I ordered Lamb Shank. Big mistake I should have stuck to fish. It was so hard I couldn't cut into it and therefore left more that 2 thirds of the shank itself. The vegetables were nice and crunchy and the mash potatoes were lovely, creamy and well seasoned. I did mention it to the waitress who took my dish away. I wasn't making a complaint I was just telling her that it wasn't nice. She just said sorry and walked away. She couldn't even lift her head up to say goodbye as we left the restaurant. Really poor and we will not be going back again.More

Whitehills is not the centre of the universe, but I was surprised at the size of the restaurant and the range/quality of food on offer. Then realised that apart from little local opposition it has a marina across the road and a caravan park not...too far away. The staff were very welcoming and the choice of fresh fish dishes in particular was impressive. Plenty of non fish choices for me to choose from though. It obviously has a good loyal local following, but on this showing deserves to attract more and more visitors from far and wide.More

We ate here at the beginning of October whilst staying in Whitehills and our only disappointment was that it was closed for the rest of the week being refurbished so we could only go once. The staff were lovely and the menu was more extensive...than the posh places we had been to on Skye - and the food was excellent. Cannot recommend it more highly.More

The seafood curry I had here is possibly the best I have ever had. Not only was the fish clearly fresh, but had not been over cooked either, and the sauce was fresh as well, not overly processes or oily. My partner had the veggie...curry which was also delicious (there are loads of veggie options!). We rounded off with a sticky toffee pudding, which may have also been the best I've ever had. Highly recommended!More

Wonderful food, cosy atmosphere and great service. Watched the sun going down over the harbour whilst eating the most beautiful seafood. Doesn’t get much better than that! Thoroughly recommend.

We visited here on Saturday and had some really nice meals. Service was good, and food was very tasty and well presented. Although they do mark starters, mains and even wines as being veggie and/or vegan, they don't mark any of their sweets/desserts as veggie...or vegan, leaving you wondering if they are or not. As it happened, we didn't have any desserts, as the mains were substantial enough on their own, but it would be nice to have some indication on the menu as to whether or not any or all of the desserts are suitable for veggies/vegans, rather than having to ask. Otherwise, it was a very nice lunch, especially the broccoli & stilton quiche, which was excellent.More

It depends on what the catch is on that given day, but if you fancy a seafood platter you can phone up and order one, although you would have to phone early. I know that whatever they have is delicious.
