Good food cooked well Gluten Free catered for which is what we require. Hadn’t booked but not a problem, looked a lot busier by the time we left (8pmish) Cost wise about average for La Cala.

As usual, the 8 of us came here during our week in Spain. My wife and I shared the hummus starter which was delicious. My wife had her favourite dish, the fish pie which was excellent as always. I had the veal served with a...mushroom sauce which was very tasty. The after dinner coffee was very good. We haven't had a bad meal here in the past 6 years!! Highly recommended, but book a table.More
Just left Gusto ….. whilst the food is good …. That can’t be said of the service …. Absolutely awful!!! Was there for 2.5 hours …. We wernt asked if we wanted more drinks & waited 22 minutes for our bill …. Going back we...ain’t!!😡More
Gustos is one of our favourite places in La Cala for lunch or dinner and the friendly service and great food never disappoints BUT having visited last week we felt everything was rushed. We had two courses, wine and coffees and were in and out...in just over an hour. It wasn’t a relaxing experience- we were not alone, this seems to be the norm as it looks like it’s now all about getting bottoms on seats. The food came suspiciously fast (a lovely steak and the excellent stroganoff) but no time between courses or to take time with the menu. It’s a shame it is a really busy restaurant but it is pricey for ‘fast’ food! We will go back as we do enjoy the food but we will try to pace ourselves better.More
The lunch today was disappointed. They didnt get my order and the quality of the food is not good enough any longer.
We ate here 2 years ago & remembered it being good so booked again to meet with friends. The staff are very friendly & have a sense of humour. The food is good quality & fresh. I particularly enjoyed my crab cakes which tasted homemade...and the prawn & asparagus linguine, full of flavour. Finished off our meal with a coffee made with brandy & condensed milk, I forget the name but it was lovely.More
Wanted to go here to celebrate son's exam results. Made two online bookings, never heard back once. So either their systems don't work or they are just rude. A huge shame.
Been visiting this restaurant for over 10 years after two bad experiences this year 2023 ( thought I would give them a second chance ) there won’t be a 3rd. Rude and unhelpful staff / Dirty glasses and tableware / plastic coated menu was sticky...and when asked if it could be cleaned just got swapped for an even stickier one. Food was lukewarm and the steak was gristly and tasteless. Avoid it has become a tourist trap.More
Real fall from grace where quality of good is concerned. Starters and kid's meals plonked in front of us within 5 minutes of ordering, which is always a concern. Children's spaghetti bolognese served luke warm in a roasting hot bowl (strange) and chips straight out...of the bottom of the barrel. Mains came out. My burger was alright, but the steak was just awful and definitely a cheap cut. Service gives it the two stars, but this is a sad one as we have been coming here for years, but the decline is now very noticeable. It'll always get clientele due to its location, yet it's sad to see the place content with that.More
Great service and excellent food. Steak cooked to perfection!! And Fruit pavlovas to die for. Definitely worth a visit
Lovely restaurant for lunch or dinner the menu is good with lots of options food is fresh and full of flavour would recommend
We have been coming here 20 years and can safely say that they rarely get it wrong. I have read recent reviews and saw some talking in groups with the younger staff but it didn't affect the service. Our waitress was lovely and chatty. Didn't...see a pigeon! I had a filet steak and it was the best I've had for years. Partner had a burger (a craving!) which he enjoyed then we shared a tiramissu. It's good!More
I can’t remember how many years we have been coming, nearly 20, but El Gusto will always be on our list of must go places. The menu has been refreshed but old favourites are still there. The staff are hard working, friendly and very efficient....Management muck in as well because the place is generally full to bursting. Four of us shared two starters, chicken wings with blue cheese dip (scrummy) and prawn toast. Main courses, fish and chips, sea bass, starter portion mussels and starter portion fish cakes. All delicious. We shared pavlova for afters. Plenty of good food, well cooked and served in a delightful location. Portions are generous, hence two starter portions as mains. Love it!More
Have been here several times in the past. Visited tonight. Chicken wings like a Sunday roast awful main course tasteless told staff just shrugged their shoulders couldn't care less.
The food was reasonable but not worth the inflated price. The red wine was mediocre, house white acceptable. We felt rushed. But the worst experience was a problem with pigeons. Flapping about the tables, stealing food. No effort by staff to discourage them
