About
The Saint Brides Inn is a family run Pub a few steps from the sea. We source meat, fish and seafood locally where possible, the crab and lobster are caught in the bay. There is a good menu with a daily changing specials board. The bar is cosy with an open fire in winter and has an ancient well which used to supply water to neighbouring houses. On sunny days the garden is sheltered from sea breezes, perfect for enjoying welsh ales or good wine. Tables can be reserved in our dining room.

Lucky to get a cancellation for the New Year celebration. I think good value at £48.50 per person to include 5 course plus a glass of bubbly on arrival and a selection of nibbles before the meal started. Early start gives everyone the choice of staying until midnight or moving on if you desire. Couldn't fault it as the staff tried extra hard to deliver a great experience. Well worth a good tip...!!!

We called into The Saint Brides Inn, Little Haven for an early evening meal as a family party of six: four adults and two adults. Due to the popularity of the venue we had booked a table in advance. There is a car park ( chargeable) directly opposite the venue. We were allocated a table on the 1st floor in an alcove just off the stairs which was ideal for us. We ordered the following dishes: Fish & chips, Ham, Egg & Chips( small), Lamb Curry (Special of the day), Hunter’s Chicken, Small Pasta, Gammon, Egg & Chips and one Fried Seafood Special. Many of the dishes on the menu are also available in small portions which are a food size for small children. All the dishes were very good. The adults did not try a dessert but the children had ice cream, Together with drinks the bill came to £100 (£110 with a tip) which we thought was good value. Well worth a visit.

My husband and his family have been visiting Little Haven for 40 years, and I too have been visiting for 18 years dining at St Brides most visits. We had one of the best meals last Wednesday evening, great fish, great service , great table, and staff were managing Cover-19 regulations well within a small restaurant, My husband who has several food intolerances was so pleased to be able to have fish and chips made from gluten free batter, together with a gluten free beer!. The Chef himself even came to our table to ask if cider or soda water was preferred in the batter, very accommodating. I highly recommend anyone visiting Little Haven to eat at St Brides, one of the best locally caught fresh fish restaurants in the area. Excellent value at £108 for 6 guests, including a main course each and alcoholic drinks. We hope to visit again next year!

First impressions were excellent with this pub in a great location and with friendly waiting staff. Our great disappointment was to find after eating my undercooked fish that there was a fish specials board. If only the landlord who had shown us to our table and taken the order has told us this was available. My wife heard the waitresses telling other diners but it appears the landlord was too much in a rush to share that key fact with us. We had gone especially for the fish and found the main menu had very little. I reluctantly ordered fish and chips and had undercooked fish in soggy batter. My wife’s prawn starter had previously frozen prawns which were ‘woolly’ and chewy. A shame when this is a fishing port. We had amazing fresh prawns at lunchtime in Saundersfoot. Final thought. When most other restaurants are wearing face masks to serve guests why is this one not? Doesn’t fill you with confidence for other hygiene arrangements.

We’ve been coming to pembrokeshire for 10 years now and usually eat at st brides at least once during our visit. The food has always been superb quality every time we’ve visited and I love the homely and snug feel of the pub. The past few years the quality of the food has gradually dropped, but we’ve seen past this and continued to visit and dine with them thinking it was just a one off experience. Our recent visit during the pandemic was a completely different experience. This time we visited with some friends and because of Covid-19 we requested a table outside in the beer garden. When we arrived the table was absolutely filthy with food crumbs and drink stains and hadn’t even been wiped down. Luckily we’ve been carrying dettol wipes with us everywhere so we wiped down the table, menus ourselves. Especially during a pandemic you would expect any business to be hot on hygiene more than ever and go above and beyond on cleaning. Secondly, the food quality has completely gone down the drain. The food was very poor especially for the price, and this time around I felt like I needed to leave a review as it’s no longer the good quality food but mass produced food churned out for the masses. My garlic mushrooms were like ‘mums been to Iceland’ and my herb crusted cod was really cold. Unfortunately, I won’t be visiting again in the future as this has been the worst experience in terms of food quality. We came away very disappointed. We are not fussy people, but expect good quality food when you pay a decent price and our meal wasn’t cheap (£150 for 4 people).

Called in for a drink and a light lunch with family after a morning walking the coastal path. The quality of our snacks was erratic and sneakily plate-filled with salad and chips. I thought the main ingredient of Welsh Rarebit was cheese, but I got more salad, chips, even chutney, one slice of bread with minimal cheese on (not qualified on the menu). Portion control poor! The soup was better and the crab sandwiches very good (but once again with salad and chips - unwanted accompaniments). I suppose as they were the only one of the three pubs in village open they can get away with it sadly. Maybe it’s cheaper for St Brides to fill a plate with salad and chips!

V disappointed. We called on Saturday for a table and specifically Sunday lunch today. Waited 20 mins before being asked for an order of either drinks or food. Ordered Sunday roast to be told they had nothing left and we could order form the main menu. Then to be told they have no veg or potatoes. We left. We should of heeded the warning from a person who had already been waiting for 30 mins for an order of drinks and food. Go to the Castle, better service.

We ordered two seafood platters, besides the scampi it was all very over cooked and oily. Chips were delicious and salad lovey. I complained mid meal and the lovely lady was very apologetic and offered it to be redone, by which point I didn’t want to eat any more oil. We were offered a goodwill gesture of pudding which I accepted and on returning to order them I explained to a older gentleman behind the bar who wasn’t impressed I didn’t complain mid meal (I did). Thankfully the ice creams were incredible and made up for the main. I can see why this place has great reviews when the seafood is cooked well, but sadly that wasn’t our experience.

Having booked a special meal with my daughter who had come to see us from Italy after the lockdown some weeks ahead we were expecting the usual good service we had received on the past We arrived on time at 6.30 expecting to have time to enjoy our meal. We ordered a starter and then our main courses at 6.45. We finally received our main courses at 7.30 At 8 after not being asked if we wanted a dessert we were told by an officious manager that we only had the table until 8 o'clock so we had to rush our dessert which arrived after the deadline. What should have been an enjoyable experience was spoiled.

Here in Little Haven on the previous evening we had a glorious meal at the St Brides Inn, and so we booked again for this evening. We were very tempted to have the wonderful scallops again, but on reflection we felt we should explore the other fish dishes on offer. We did however stay with the same wine as we enjoyed on the previous evening: “Cloudy Bay” from New Zealand. I would observe that Cloudy Bay is about £22 a bottle in supermarkets, and trade stockists sell for about £13, so the £30 per bottle price tag at this pub was not out of the way (the rule of thumb in pubs appears to be a 400% uplift). Anyway back to our evening at the St. Brides Inn. We did not order a starter; we went for instead for a main course and dessert combination. We were tempted by the fish platter, this was a was a choice of up to 5 different fish: prawns, battered scampi, deep fried whitebait, breadcrumbed cod bites. and battered calamari. Neither of us are keen on calamari, also my partner doesn’t like whitebait, so if we were to have 5 kinds of fish we would need to have multiple portions of selected fish. We checked the wording on the menu and decided that it didn’t say we couldn’t do this, so we decided to order it and see what happened. So my partner ordered 2 x portions of prawns, 1 x portion of cod bites, and 2 x portions of scampi. I ordered 1 x portion of prawns, 2 x portions of scampi, 1 x portion of cod bites and 1 x portion of whitebait … and joy, our order was accepted. When the meals arrived they looked excellent and there was a lot of fish, the meal was completed with a bowl of chips, tartare sauce, sweet (and hot) chilli sauce, and a small crunchy side salad. It was all excellent with all fish beautifully cooked, it was definitely too much though, and our chips were only half eaten. I also had to leave a few whitebait, not because it was in anyway inferior (it was really good) but I preferred the other fish a bit more than the whitebait. My partner had similar choice problems, and didn’t eat the batter on the cod bites. We were stuffed and we sat and rested for a while, drank some wine, and then decided to share a mint and chocolate sundae. The mint ice cream was excellent, and the cut-up mint Matchmakers and Chocolate Buttons provided a perfect texture change. I’m not sure about the whipped cream though, but the thick chocolate sauce was excellent. Now we were really too full, and the restaurant was hot, so we went for a stroll and then checked back into our B&B for a bit of TV and good sleep. A thoroughly excellent meal with pleasant service and great wine. This was definitely the right place to dine and we hope we can visit Little Haven another time for some more of those scallops.

We’ve been visiting little haven for a number of years and really love it’s quaint little pubs. We always plan a couple of visits to the st brides inn for food whilst we’re here as it’s so close to where we stay. The food used to be lovely, however over recent visits the quality has gradually fallen, and we have now made the decision not to return here for food again. The food is very poor quality and generally mass produced for the summer crowds. The specials board never changes and therefore the meals on there are not actually specials. This time I ate the fish stew (special) which was actually just some fish in a can of tinned tomatoes. The chocolate fudge cake was nice but very cheap quality. It is a real shame because this place used to serve great food but obviously it’s now more focussed on making as much profit as possible from a captive audience of visitors.

Now, i've been here several times and have mixed reviews of it. The fish is AMAZING! The lay out of the pub, the charismatic owner, the selection of local ales are great! The foods 'sides' are a bit moot though, Sunday roast 'veg' is average, which leads me on to a specific experience. Their sunday roasts finish around 2pm. I called at 1:45, asking how many roasts they have left, as we thought of a spontaneous roast and was told 'plenty'. Got there at 2pm, was told they have no veg. Went out to discuss with other half, then got told they have no roast potatoes either. Went in to order meat and lots of yorkshires, then got told they have veg....RESULT! However, then got told they had run out of meat. Long story short, don't trust their word - if someone says 'plenty', i expected in 15 minutes, to still be loads...this screwed up our entire day.

We called into the Saint brides Inn on the off chance last Sunday, and were lucky enough to get a table. I was very tempted by the excellent selection of fish dishes on the menu, but having seen the roast beef dinner of the man on the next table, I decided that I had to have that!! And was it delicious! The beef was tender, and plenty of it, lovely veg and more than enough gravy. My only niggle would be that the roast potatoes were a bit overcooked but on the whole it was excellent, and good value for money. The staff were lovely, very helpful and, unlike so many other places we have eaten, all wearing their masks properly and cleaning down well in between guests. To be honest, as I explained to our waitress, we went here very soon after lockdown, when we had to sit outside, and the meal then was awful, but this was understandable at that time with the limitations on available food, few staff etc. On this occasion, had anywhere else been open, we probably would have gone somewhere else - but we are so glad we didn't. Fantastic!!

We've just come back from a week's holiday in Pembrokeshire and the quality of the first night's food here ensured that we ate at St Brides Inn for another 2 nights. Firstly, telephone booking and covid regs were well thought out and initial greeting and explanation of regs was friendly and thorough. The floor staff are mostly young but very capable and friendly and were very well marshalled by the manageress/team leader. All the time we felt looked after and never had to 'search' for service. The quality and flavours of everything that we ate was sublime. From lobster thermidor to a fantastic lasagne, all the food was memorable. Despite the chef being busy, he spent a few minutes explaining how he sourced the best local ingredients and where they came from, the results were fantastic. The food showed great, well balanced flavours and the combination of the Chef's skill and the great ingredients were a joy. Desserts were indulgant and very delicious. Thank you St Brides Inn for 3 great evenings.

This is my favourite restaurant by far! You can always rely on having a good meal here. I try to come here as often as possible and always book here for any family/friends occasion such as birthdays, anniversaries etc. The food here is wonderful and I love that they offer a smaller meal option, for £5 off your main, if you want to save room for dessert or if your appetite just isn't as great. Cannot recommend enough. This is my favourite restaurant all year around. The atmosphere is fab and the food is great. What more could you want?
