We went here for a Sunday roast dinner this weekend. It was delicious! The meat was incredibly tender, the vegetables super tasty and it was all beautifully presented. The affogato pudding was also extremely tasty. We popped into The Castle a few times over this weekend and the staff were, as always, very friendly and welcoming. Thanks for a great few visits!👍👍

Visited with my husband, son and two dogs one of which took a fancy to the young waiter, didn’t catch his name the food was of high standard and very tasty. I had a curry my husband had the seafood pasta whilst my son had the burger wasn’t a long wait but wasn’t super fast either a tale tale sign that all was made from scratch and not mass produced - beer wasn’t bad either
Would return if in the area again

We went for Sunday lunch 6th Oct 22 and booked a table for 1.20pm as we had been told they were always busy. They are so if you want a Sunday lunch there book a table. 5 of us went, 1 had a fish pie 3 had roast brisket and 1 had roast pork. The roast pork looked delicious and was finished in short time. I was one who had the brisket and I have to say it was as good as I've had anywhere. The roast dinners were served with roast potato, mash swede, carrots Yorkshire pudding and gravy with a jug of extra gravy and cabbage in a bowl for those that wanted extras. The fish pie was served with a salad and I was told it was "fantastic" The service was friendly, efficient and good. The table was a good size which left us with plenty of room for our drinks etc... All round, a great experience and I wouldn't hesitate to go again, highly recommended but it is very well attended so phone first.

We visited on a Sunday evening with our 3 children. We eat out a lot with the children and found the castle didn’t provide what we would call good service. We’d booked in advance and were put in a room on our own at a dirty table to start, so asked to be moved into the main bar to get some atmosphere (not sure if that was the problem and the kids weren’t welcome).
The service was really really slow, even though there was empty tables. And when we asked how long the food would be we were told that they were busy! The kitchen could really do with looking at quality over quantity as filling plates with pre-frozen chips doesn’t tick every customers box.
At the end of the low quality meal (£120) we were left unhappy.

We arrived later than we'd planned/hoped (we'd travelled over 230 miles, it was difficult to predict) and I felt we were being rushed because of that. HOWEVER, after an inauspicious start, we were moved to a lovely bay window table and the service was efficient, the portions were generous (although a bit pricey, we thought) and the tea came in a beautiful big cup and saucer with a warm Welsh cake on the side. It was worth the journey for that! The vegetarian choices were very limited - spinach and ricotta cannelloni seemed a bit paltry and everything else was basically vegan - it's not the same! - but my Halloumi fries from the starter menu were delicious and plentiful.
It's a beautiful setting of course; parking is in a car park round the corner (payable up to 7pm)

It was one of the best, possibly the best, meal I have ever eaten. Most of us had the pan fried salmon which was cooked to perfection. The mussels were delicious too! There was great attention to detail eg the mini welsh cake served with a babychino (which made a 5 year old feel very grown up!) The staf were very attentive even though it was a busy Saturday lunchtime. Can't wait for my next visit!

When I stumbled across this little treasure known as "The Castle" on one of my days out in this fabulous county! I walked in expecting to see a fully modernised restaurant but to my surprise it was slightly old fashioned which gave it a nice touch. Standing at the bar was a lovely polite young woman who turned out to be very helpful. We where lucky enough to be seated at an empty table next to a window with an amazing view.
We opened the `Menu` to find a very wide range of foods, some sea foods and others very traditional Welsh dishes.
Our orders were then taken by the very nice young lady which later we found out her name was Nella, Excellent service by the way!!
I went for the "Traditional Welsh Cawl" and my partner went for the "battered Fish And Chips".
Both our meals were brung out just as fast as we ordered them. The presentation was absolutely stunning and the food tasted better then i could have ever expected. As much as I wanted to order one of the gorgeous desserts, I just could not fit it in, the Cawl was just so filling.
The meals and drinks were just as exquisite. And the whether and sunset was amazing aswell!
The Castle has the best service with the staff smiling so much, it looked like they did not want to be anywhere else. 10 out of 10 or 5 out of 5!!!
I will definitely 100% be returning! What a memorable evening and a even better find.
Thank you so much for your food and service.

Sunday lunch is a treat, especially the Beef Brisket, cooked to perfection.
Ordered small portions as elderly. Lots of veggies, efficient, friendly staff despite being under pressure as full house. Always visit here when in area and never had a bad meal.

We ate here on the off chance, all tables were fully booked however the bar man said that we could eat inside as one table wasn’t going till 7.30pm so we gad please type of time. We had the vegetarian curry, salmon and prawn linguini and my son had the burger. The food was fantastic, we have 3 restaurant s of our own in north wales so we can be quite fussy and opinionated when it comes to eating out, but honestly I the food, service and the beer was fantastic, such a lovely pub, in a lovely village and also dog friendly even for our unsociable collies!

Great fun, lovely view, few rowdy dogs but that was the fault of one lady and her dog who set the other peaceful dogs off, didn't spoil the experience. Fish chips were a good size and tasted lovely and they were piping hot hurrah a pub that serves hot food. Friendly staff, will return thank you for a lovely evening.

In Wales on holiday and tired and hungry after our trip to Skomer Island, we came here for food as they started serving at 5pm. Our local at home is a Marstons pub and nothing special, so my expectations were not high. How wrong was I? The best pub fish and chips I have ever had - fantastic quality and very generous portion. Very quick service (much appreciated as we were starving) and piping hot. Partner’s gammon was also excellent. A great find

We stayed in Little Haven last weekend and ate at The Castle 3 times. Every meal was absolutely delicious - the steak, fish and chips and to top it all the Sunday roast - not forgetting the desserts. Ingredients supplied locally and cooked to perfection.
The service from Gunny and Tom was outstanding and the atmosphere is so friendly and relaxed. So lovely to also be able to take our dog in - he thoroughly enjoyed some tasters!
Thank you so much and look forward to visiting again soon.

This is probably the most popular pub in the village, the pub sits right in front of the beach and provides a good-sized seated terrace. There was also a proportionally large area of grass ‘the green’ which is probably a public rather than private area. Also various public pathways, public benches and the low sea wall, all are used by clientele to stand or sit whilst socializing and drinking, and possibly even eating snacks.
Inside the pub is a bit old fashioned with a lot of natural stone and wood, with lighting being effective if meant to engender secluded dining, but it really didn’t fit with the rather austere décor. We were seated inside which for us was a blessing; as it was far quieter than the terrace seating. There was quite a lot of indoor space available and we were seated in the main bar in the window seat, a good start we felt, but that was as far as it went.
We studied the menu and after reading the many revies of the good seafood here, we were pleased to order the fish pie, the second choice would have been the fish and chips. In fact meals of fish and chips were then presented to us, but the senior ‘waitress’, or possibly she was the duty manager, sent our waitress away, saying that these were the wrong meals.
I wish now we had just accepted those ‘wrong meals’. What we were expecting from the menu description was a pie topped with mashed potato, whereas what was served was wholly mashed potato with a bit of fish mixed-in. It was stodgy, lacked flavour and has practically no texture. The extra bread and butter (good quality I may add) made this meal even more of a carb-fest. Even the undressed salad didn’t lift the overall texture. This food was poor and cheap, and we were looking for quality food and we would not have minded paying for it. We couldn’t finish these meals, they were too filling and, not being a favourite of mash, I was struggling from the very first mouthful.
We did decide to have a dessert and the chocolate brownie was not at all bad to be fair.
The wine wasn’t particularly good either, the Chilean Sauvignon Blanc was served cold, but was not at all complex (which is invariably the way with cheap wines from Chile).
In the end after discussing it, we decided to cancel a planned second visit and try elsewhere. We were sorry to cancel mainly because the staff were great, helpful and engaging but the food and wine did not provide what we were looking for.
