After ordering drinks we were seated in the restaurant area and ordered ham, egg and chips from an extensive menu. Thought we couldn't go wrong as the menu stated home cooked ham, it sounded like good simple pub grub! Entering into the snug bar it is comfortable and has a real fire. Lots of photographs of the old Flixton Hall, now burned down. The staff were polite and helpful. The ambiance was good. A selection of real ales.

Enjoyed a very good Sunday lunch at the end of a walk with friends - freshly cooked veg, Yorkshire pud etc. Staff very efficient, friendly and helpful. Lovely pub - pleasant surroundings. Will definitely come again. Good place to start and finish a beautiful Waveney Valley walk.

Four of us visited on a Saturday lunchtime, four different meals, all served up at same time and lovely. Only criticism is that the salad was so finally chopped, you could not take out what you didn't like.

Visited the pub some weeks back on a Sunday and liked the look of the menu so our party of 3 returned to give it a try. The food was fresh and lovely and the choice of real ales superb. Unlike so many pubs the staff although mostly young were helpful, knowledgeable about the menu and friendly. Although a bit... More

While visiting parents we decided to have an impromptu Sunday Lunch out. Having tried a couple of known suspects they were fully booked, but the Black Swan had a table for 5 at the time we needed. I guess there was some apprehension thoughts as we hadn't been there before and they had tables available, but gladly they were completely... More
