Great joint run by a couple. Husband, whose grandfather handed the keys to grandson, is amazingly dedicated to the craft. Craft because it takes skill to ensure everyone gets their fill within 5mins and everything is freshly grilled and prepared. And the TASTE is amazing. A quick local dish that has great flavours because of the ingredients; that include heated... More

It was okay :) Esp the pita bread was really crispy and nice. The souvilaki was nice as well but i am not really sure if this is worth the great reviews. It is excellent and in my top souvilaki places. But two complaints : 1. The portion should be a bit more bigger cos many other places have a bigger... More

A small place manned by two people offering 3 types of souvlaki; fresh ingredients, fast (depending on queue) and cheap (€2.30). Mainly for a take-away quick Greek snack.

Read up all about this one already? All the good stuff is true and none of the bad. Infected by tourists to some extent – so a lack of Greek is no bar to getting what you want - but plainly still loved by the locals. A perfect match of quality ingredients and top-notch cooking make for a souvlaki that... More

Ok its cheap but the souvlaki are not that good... First of all, it's very small, then the kitchen is equipped with camping accessories. The atmosphere is cool, Greek style, everybody is laughing and screaming. There is no place where to eat so prepare to eat outside. I won't go back, I was not impressed with the food.

These are the things you need to know about this place: 1. It's not a restaurant, but rather like a food stall, so don't expect ambience, waiters or even tables and plates. 2. The menu comprises souvlaki (with or without pork meat) and small burgers. That's it. Don't ask for fries, you won't find them here. 3. A lot of... More

We had to try the Souvlaki because of all the reviews on TripAdvisor. Bought it and took it To Go to our hotel room close by. Very fresh and tasty, was the first time we try it and was very good. It's not really a restaurant so have that in mind if you decide do go. Cheers

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
