Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is my favorite Cafe in Athens! The pastries and coffee are the best I have found (especially the chocolate croissants:) The owners are extremely hospitable and generous and the food is reasonably priced. I would highly recommend Kekkos for both tourists and locals. It is a must see on a trip to Athens!

We were there for lunch orderd a Greek salad and 2 orange juice which costed us around 14 euros . Good quantity and at the end the lady gave us a free 2 keekos speciality ice cream . We are vegetarian and seeing complete vegetation and vegan restaurant made us happy . The place is clean and the lady makes the restaurant warm with her kindness.

After going to Kekkos multiple times, I was humbled by the fact that Dimitri and his staff members are passionate, hard working and personable people. They are always accommodating to customers and have very delicious pastries. My favortie being the chocolate croissant. Always a great place to sit and do homework or chat with friends. 10/10 recommend.

Kekkos has everything you are looking for (breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee, dessert, bread) at a fantastic price! It is also an incredibly welcoming space, with both indoor and outdoor seating and kind employees. I studied abroad in Athens this semester and visited Kekkos almost every day. The owners, Dimitri and Katerina, and all their employees are wonderful people who always greeted me with a smile. They are some of the most generous people I've ever met! Definitely stop by here if you are in Pangrati.

This café has fantastic coffee, food, pastries, absolutely everything. I was a student in the area and the owners welcomed me like I was a member of their family. Expect both excellent food and a true taste of Greek hospitality in Athens. This place is more deserving of your business than any restaurant in the whole city. Plus, they do not rip you off!! Coffee here is half the price of the coffee sold in more central areas such as Plaka and Psiri, while only being a 20 minute walk from the more central parts! You can study or enjoy a meal with friends. KEKKOS HAS EVERYTHING! (I would personally highly recommend any of their traditional Greek pastries and their chocolate croissants! But you can’t go wrong with anything else on their menu — great breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between!!) pictured are Kekkos decorated for Christmas in December (inside & outside), some free treats given to me by the kind owner, and the Kekkos outdoor seating area during the springtime!

The café and pastry shop (zacharoplasteion in greek) near the National Garden, is a lovely, small place on a quite busy road, often partly hidden behind parked cars. It has a nice, friendly atmosphere, with a very helpful, sympathetic staff. On a visit, definitely try the great homemade spinach pie, the best I have ever had. It also sells waffles and other sweets, which I haven't tried, but they looked really good.

The personnel was really kind, they even offered us some mini ice cream cone. The food was pretty abundant, really good and refreshing, we ordered some salad, a coke and baklava. Total price for 2 people 20 euros.

I spent an extended period in Athens and Kekkos was hands down the best coffee experience. The owners of Kekkos are prime examples of the best of Greek hospitality. You can confidently expect great food and coffee in addition to the wonderful hospitable experience. Additionally, if you are only in Athens briefly, Pangrati (the neighborhood Kekkos is situated in) is well worth a visit. I would genuinely recommend this spot to anyone visiting Athens.

Dimitri and his family are so kind and welcoming while I'm studying abroad here. All of their drinks and food are amazing. They regularly give me items for free or for less. Dimitri even helped us with a homework assignment.

This place, Kekkos, was an amazing place to visit! I am from the US and was visiting my daughter who is studying abroad in Athens. She brought me too this place. The owner, Dimitrius, takes care of these study abroad kids like they are his own! Fabulous food and drink and atmosphere! A real must see while traveling through Athens!!

My family and I came for a week to Athens, and Kekkos was by far the best cafe which we went to. Dimitri and his staff provide incredible service and a welcoming atmosphere for all - families, singles, businesses, and more. The food and coffee options have an excellent variety. Nearby the National Gardens and Panathenaic Stadium, this is a great spot for any time of day.

By far the friendliest people and the best service of anywhere we went in Athens. The place was cute and cozy and the food was delicious! We stopped by after touring the stadium. Highly, highly recommend!

Pangrati
The elongated Panathenaic Stadium, built for the first modern Olympic Games in 1896, acts as grand gateway to the otherwise purely Athenian neighborhood of Pangrati. This area of typical small squares, busy main roads and residential streets will give you a clear sense of what living in this metropolis is like. A walk up quiet Markou Mousourou Street on the west side of the stadium will bring you past the First National Cemetery to Mets, home to many expats. Turn right to reach the charming Platia Varnava. East of the stadium, commercial Eratosthenous Street leads to rather nondescript Platia Plastira, from where Effranoros Street continues uphill to Platia Profiti Ilia, crowned by a huge church. Among the standard four- to six-story apartment blocks that typify Athens, Pangrati also boasts some genuinely authentic tavernas and the odd trendy bar.
