This is a central and reasonably priced restaurant with ample tables on both sides of the street. The Souvlaki (chicken and beef) were delicious and came with pieces of pita bread, fries/chips along with onions and tomatoes. The wait staff was prompt and courteous forwarding input on the different menu items. The dessert of baklava was in one word, incredible.... More

Here you can just sit and enjoy some good food, that doesn't cost a lot! The waiter is really nice and try the best they can to talk with you :) While they are trying to capture new customers! It's nice and relaxing here and the food is well prepared!

Simple good food. Not as pricey as some along the streets. We had the grilled fish which was nicely done. The calamari was okay.

Andrianou street has uncountable number of restaurants, famous for tourists. My expectation was not very high at this spot, but it was more worse that I expected. I do not know, but the cook has at far not the qualification to call itself "a cook". The wine leaves were just low quality. the speciality of the house was meat, swimming... More

Carte Postale became our "kitchen" during our 2 weeks stay in Athens. The food selection is similar to the other restaurants/cafes, however, their service was very very excellent! Special mention to Lefteris for making us feel welcomed every time! They have good portions ... we tried almost all of the items in their menu and we enjoyed each of them.... More

This restaurant was recommended by our bike tour guide George. When we walked up and began to look at the menu in front of the restaurant, the owner was very nice and walked us through the full menu explaining what some of the dishes were and which was recommended. We said at a table with a view of the temple... More

The food is good, but not as tasty as in other places. Taramasalata is not their best speciality, I've eaten much more better in other restaurants. Wifi is ok, waiters are nice, service is quick.

Staying in Monastiraki

Neighbourhood Profile
Monastiraki is a souvenir-hunting enclave with a difference. Apart from the dramatic backdrop of the Acropolis, its network of alleys and pedestrianized streets surround the remains of both the Greek and Roman agoras, adding the quaint concept that this is where the ancients also came to shop. Named after the tiny monastery church at its center, Monastiraki Square is a lively spot by day or night, with street peddlers vying for your attention to sell you nuts and sweets. Down beside the metro station, the official Flea Market is an unbroken row of souvenir shops until you come to antique-oriented Platia Avissinias, while Pandrossou Street on the other side of the square offers more tourist shopping. The pedestrianized street beside the Greek Agora is lined with cafés offering fine views.
