Nice greek meze to accompany ouzo or tsipouro. Extremelly beautifull when the weather is good and the sun shines over Athens. A place to see friends, relax ad enjoy

My wife and I were walking from the Plaka in Athens to the trailhead of Mount Lycabettus. On our route we saw many cafes and restaurants but we were looking for a special spot to have dinner before starting our ascent of the high point. In a park environment we found Dexameni. It's sidewalk cafe was the absolute perfect choice.... More

Came across this restaurant initially while walking, stopped to check the menu however it was too early for service ( food is served after 1pm) Great for meeting friends and enjoying a traditional Greek tapas style restaurant while enjoying a cold beer. Portions are larger than Spanish tapas, so two people can share while explore Greek foods Seating is outside... More

Cheap eats and very tasty variety of Mezzes . most traditional Greek culinary recipes are there . my usual favourite is the keftedes (meatballs ) . Since it is cheap and good , service is slow and you may find it difficult to find a table on peak timing .

This is on the way up to Lykavitos hill and well worth a stop. Open air with plenty tables on either side of street. Friendly welcome and mouthwatering array of food - all small portions, so select two or three for a full dinner! Inexpensive. Would recommend the pork cooked in paper and the Cretan cheese.

Gorgeous square with a super view of the acropolis, we were happy to be there mixing it up with the Greeks, teenagers and tourists having a quick bite before going to Dexemeni open air cinema. Gorgeous spot and lovely snacks!

A Perfect place were drink something or have a typical greek dinner with genuine dishes at special price. We paid 21,00 € eating and drinking like never before. Pork is a must try.

Lots of delicious mezze and tapas style food. Not one for pretentious surroundings, you just sit outside on small chairs and enjoy yourself! For the traditional locals and people who like wholesome food. Lentils, veal meatballs, octopus highly recommended.

I love Dexameni for two reasons. It is in the middle of Athens, between Lycabettus hill and Kolwnaki an 'overestimated' area with high prices in anything. Anyway, the guys that owe Dexameni have made some great plates with reasonable prices, that have nothing to do with the rest of the area. You can drink your coffee or eat your food... More

Staying in Kolonaki / Lykavittos

Neighbourhood Profile
Kolonaki / Lykavittos
By far the ritziest neighbourhood in town, Kolonaki is home to most of the chic boutiques and designer label stores. Here, the wealthy say no to austerity by dressing in their finest and spending hours in the trendy cafés around Kolonaki Square, sipping the most expensive coffee in Europe. The area also contains a couple of notable museums and cultural institutions, which add to the air of nobility. The leafy upper reaches of Kolonaki transition into Lykavittos Hill, the highest point in central Athens. Climb the paths through its wooded slopes to the tiny chapel at the top, from where you are rewarded with stunning views across the Acropolis to the sea and even the mountains of the Peloponnese on a clear day. The wooden amphitheater up here hosts regular concerts during the summer.
