Calamari, Greek salad, octopus, some small fish, a beer, bread and a bottle of water cost under 35euros. The food was all cooked fresh and the grilled octopus was very good. Service was friendly and happy to explain in English. Should have been a lot...More

We often struggle to find simple authentic cuisine but are always drawn by a place full of locals and up this narrow alley we could hear laughter from a large group of elderly people obviously enjoying the afternoon. The setting, the menu and the staff...More

O Andreas and I Criti are the two places that Athenians in the centre go to when they want authentic old time food. Nice menu with generous portions and it is easy to while away an afternoon slowly working your way through mounds of small...More

The seafood dishes here were very good. Marinated anchovies, fried whole anchovies, mussels, and whole shrimp with salt and pepper were all very flavourful. The price was reasonable: about 50 euro for two appetizers, four mains, and a couple of bottles of water. There were...More

Older style restaurant with older staff. The food is pretty good. The staff spoke limited to moderate English. The wife had this dish with egg cheese and prosciutto that she really liked. Good inside air-conditioning. Overall a decent place with decent prices.

This restaurant is very well situated. It offers a wide range of typical Greek dishes : Greek salad, Greek cheeses, Dakos, fish and vegetables etc. The prices are not expensive and you can add a nice Greek wine without increasing the bill. The staff is...More

Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is
grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from
the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its
underground stalls, the square is now mostly
frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The
most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set
off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually
coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a
