I would highly recommend this place for having breakfast!! My boyfriend and I shared one breakfast (classic)which included an omelette, salad, bread, greek yogurt with honey and a fresh juice and coffee or tea. Additionally we had a greek sandwich. Perfect breakfast for 2!!

An alternative but also delicious and healthier choice from custom street foods. Whatever your desire may be either tasty sweet with coffee or quick launch, Meliartos provides both. +tastful puncake +kind stuff +clean +decorarion -overcrowded sometimes -long waiting for our order -pre-fried french potatos -I think quite more expensive than I was expecting

During a food tour, we stopped at this street bakery which was indeed much more than the. The floor itself was mesmerizing... a subtle, graphic combination of black and white tiles : precisely what you would like at your home. Three or four places in one : a creamery (with unforgettable chocolate shots for nothing), a pie-shop, a coffee-shop and... More

Was in Athens for 6 days and went to this Cafe for 5 days continuously for breakfast after the first when we discovered it. Very Friendly staff and the girl who makes coffee was brilliant at her job along with her smile. Would definitely recommend this place for breakfast as there is so much variety and freshly prepared food. Great... More

The waiter we had spoke great English and gave us great service. Our main meals (stuffed chicken) were delicious, and great value. We were then treated to a free desert and given some discount vouchers for our return and a map with the sights of Athens. Overall a great experience.

We visited Meliatos initially just for an afternoon coffee and some Greek deserts and end up having early dinner there as well. We can certainly attest to some of the positive comments regarding the quality of the food and friendliness of the service. However, we were especially impressed by our waitress, Marianne. Rarely have we met a server that is... More

Do not try to escape. At last you will enter this place. So, just be calm and order a super duper delicious dessert :) Do not torture yourself :)

Meliartos is located in the center of Athens. It is a multi-space where one can experience traditional Greek cuisine in 4-shops-in-a-shop: The Coffee House, the Pie Shop, the Creamery Shop and the Kitchenette. What is intriguing about Meliartos is how well it combines traditional taste with modern design.

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
