It was fitting that we should leave Athens with a nice feeling about Greek food. We picked this restaurant because of the big variety in the menu. And this prices were definitely lower than those in busy Adrianau the day before. We enjoyed the food and its house white wine. For starters, we shared fried feta cheese, fried octopus and... More

Stopped here for lunch whilst we were strolling around Psirri. Usually we don't stop at places with people outside asking you to come in but the gentleman was very sweet and not pushy, allowing us to look at the menu first! We just wanted a gyro (we had one every day for lunch!) and these were absolutely wonderful. Only 2.50... More

Reasonably priced restaurant. Men very similar to many other restaurants, but this one at the end of a busy strip felt nicer. Lovely little lights everywhere and a little quieter that the busy street

They serve excellent pita gyros, tzatziki and lamb chops; home wine is really good too. The local is very nice, the staff friendly and traditional music makes eating in this place an unique experience:)

I'm always hesitant to go into restaurants when the workers are outside trying to get you to come in, however the staff here is wonderful and the food is even better! Gyros for 2.50, you should also try the fried zucchini, it was suggested by the waiter and it was delicious!! We got to go. Ack a second time during... More

I was taken here by friends last Sunday and it was a nice change from our usual place Dipylo which also has live music and standard taverna food. This place is very touristy and I was a little surprised by the choice frankly by two Athenians. The service was OK if at times a little unfriendly. There was at one... More

We stopped in by accident, had not read a review, but were amazed! Great food, friendly staff and good Greek wine. The gyro and doner were both delicious and a bargain at 2.50 euro, add a half carafe of wine at 4 euro, the best bargain in Greece! We are visiting for the second time.

Thank irishsusan

Staying in Psirri / Gazi

Neighbourhood Profile
Psirri / Gazi
Side-by-side neighbourhoods Psirri and Gazi provide some of the city’s prime nightlife. The almost claustrophobic streets of Psirri feature an interesting blend of original small businesses with the restaurants, cafés and bars that have recently sprouted up. The central artery of Agion Anargiron Street has lively places to eat or drink. Further west, you can visit the peaceful ancient cemetery of Keramikos, then cross busy Pireos Street to find yourself in Gazi. With the huge Technopolis performance and art complex converted from old gasworks at its heart, you really have to come at night to appreciate this maze of bars at its best, although a daytime stroll will allow you to admire the excellent street art.
